🥋 Why Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Is Great Self-Defense for Teens

📊 Nearly 1 in 5 U.S. high schoolers (19.7%) were bullied at school in 2025, according to the CDC's newest national survey. And 1 in 3 teens were cyberbullied in just the past month.

💪Technique beats size. BJJ teaches smaller people to control bigger, stronger opponents using leverage, not strength.

🛡️ Control without hurting. Teens learn to escape, stay safe, and hold someone down without throwing punches.

🧠 Calm under pressure. Research links BJJ training to greater resilience, self-control, and confidence, and one study found teens and adults were less aggressive after five months of training.

🚫 Confidence that stops bullying. Confident kids are less likely to be targeted, and BJJ teaches that the best fight is the one you avoid.
