Live Music Center

Spring recitals are here today! All of our students, whatever age or ability, are invited each fall and spring to participate in our semi-annual recitals. And whether they've been performing for years, or if it's their first recital, many musicians still experience nerves before playing in front of an audience. Here are my favorite things to remember to help keep the nerves at bay:

Deep, slow breaths. Breathe in for a count of 4, hold it for 5, exhale for 6. Do that a few times until your nervous system regulates

Shake it off! If you're feeling that shaky energy, allow your body to move with purpose. Do jumping jacks, shake your hands, roll your shoulders, whatever feels right

Distraction. Read a book or play a game on your phone to keep your mind from spiraling.

And last, remember that your audience is there to support you, and they WANT to see you have a good time. Mistakes aren't the end of the world, and perfection doesn't matter. Do you best and enjoy the process!

Our youngest teen band, Normal Paranormal, brought their best rock to the stage for the Homegrown Noise concert last Friday!
Soooo proud of these up and coming rock stars!
They set the tone, and the rest of the show just kept rolling, with Stoneface, Bite the Bullet, Vixen Strut, and Atom and the Breaknecks!
