Meet Khamisi Jackson, one of our incredible Clinical Instructors at Blake Austin College! 💙

A nurse since 2010, Khamisi brings years of knowledge, compassion, and real-world experience into the classroom, helping prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals. Her passion for teaching and dedication to her students make a lasting impact every day.

Outside of nursing, Khamisi enjoys crocheting and spending time with her family. As a proud mom of twins and two bonus children, she credits her strong faith, fiancé, and family as the foundation that keeps her motivated and moving forward.

✨ Student Spotlight: Adalay Diaz Farias ✨

Meet Adalay, one of our passionate Vocational Nursing students! 👩‍⚕️🤍

When she’s not studying, Adalay enjoys taking her dogs out for pup cups 🐶, training her goats 🐐, shopping, and spending time in nature. She also brings 3 years of CNA experience into the classroom, helping shape her future in nursing.

Adalay hopes to become a wound care nurse and is passionate about representation in healthcare. As a proud Mexican student, she aspires to be part of the growing Hispanic nursing community — currently making up about 9% of nurses nationwide. 🩺✨

Learning the skills that save lives!💙🥼

Today, our VN students practiced placing nasogastric (NG) tubes in lab — an important nursing skill used for feeding patients, administering medications, and removing stomach contents.

Before placement, students focused on properly educating and comforting their patients, helping build both technical skills and compassionate bedside care. 🛏️

So proud to see these future nurses building both confidence and compassion in every skill they learn. 🩺

Hawaiian Day on campus brought all the smiles, laughs, and island vibes. Even in the middle of busy schedules and hands-on learning, it’s important to have fun and enjoy the journey together. 🌴✨

Twin Day at Blake Austin had everyone doing a double take all across campus. From matching scrubs to perfectly coordinated outfits, our students brought the fun, creativity, and personality all day long. 💙 😂

✨ Student Spotlight: Briana Mercedez Huerta | VN 300 ✨

Before joining the Vocational Nursing program at Blake Austin College, Briana worked as a Medical Assistant for two years at a Hematology/Oncology clinic — building valuable experience and a strong passion for patient care along the way. ❤️🩺

Briana says she’s a hands-on learner, which is why she LOVES clinicals and skills practice the most. From learning new techniques to gaining confidence in real-world settings, she continues to bring positivity, dedication, and heart into the classroom every day. 👏
