🤔 Which one is heavier? A green orange, a lime or a rock? ⚖️

Today our little scientists explored the concepts of heavy, light, and balance using a balance scale and a variety of natural materials, including green oranges, limes, rocks, leaves and sticks. 🌿🪨

The children made predictions, tested their ideas, and compared different objects to discover which side of the scale would go up, down, or stay balanced. Through this hands-on STEM investigation, they practiced observation, problem-solving, comparing, and early math skills while expanding their vocabulary in both English and Spanish.

✨ Sometimes the smallest objects are heavier than we expect… and that’s what makes discovering so much fun!

Last week we were working on our Father’s Day project. The children started by decorating their own picture frames using a variety of materials and most importantly, their imagination.

There was no example to follow and no right or wrong way to create. Each child was free to make their frame their own, resulting in unique designs that reflect their creativity and personality.

This project is being completed in different stages, so this was just the beginning. We look forward to sharing more of the process and the finished gifts soon. 💙🤍

Last Thursday, we kicked off our World Cup fun with a day full of active play, teamwork, smiles, and lots of energy! 🏆⚽️

Watching children learn, grow, encourage one another, and simply enjoy being kids is one of the greatest joys of what we do.

Sharing some pics of today’s Playdoh session ✨ It was full of colors, creativity, cutting, shaping and so many little ideas coming to life. Watching children explore through open ended play is one of my favorite parts of the day 💛

Simple setup for our oral health activity 🦷✨ I prepped laminated teeth templates with “chocolate paint, brushes & toothpaste with whipped cream and blue color.

The kids had so much fun adding the chocolate and then brushing the teeth clean while practicing fine motor skills 🎨💛

Happy 5th Anniversary Lindo Día Daycare 🤍 🎉

I can’t believe it’s been 5 years since I opened the doors of my home to welcome children and their families into my life. It’s truly been such a beautiful journey. This past year especially, I’ve learned so much as both an educator and a business owner.

Running a childcare business isn’t always easy but it’s so rewarding especially in those little moments when the kids, their families or my team show their appreciation. Those moments mean everything.

Today I just want to say thank you to all the families who are, or have been, part of our daycare family. Thank you for trusting me, for choosing me, for giving my program a chance, for your patience and for all your support.

I’m so excited for what’s ahead in this next chapter, especially when it comes to our educational goals.

The version of me who got licensed back in 2021 would honestly be so proud of how far we’ve come.

This week we explored the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss. 📖

Each day we read different books and many of our activities were inspired by the stories. The children connected with the books through art, sensory play and lots of creativity.

Today we closed this fun week with Fox in Socks. The children designed their own silly sock using different materials and their imagination. Each one turned out unique and full of personality.
