Uxbridge High School Names David Fredette Assistant Principal
Uxbridge High School Principal Michael Rubin is proud to announce the hiring of David Fredette as the next assistant principal of the High School.
Mr. Fredette comes to UHS following a successful tenure as the principal of Murdock High School in Winchendon. He has been an administrator at all three school levels, having been an elementary school principal in Gardner and assistant principal in both Ware and the Wachusett Regional School District, as well as an assessment coordinator for the Worcester Public Schools. He started his career as a middle school English Language Arts teacher, and he is currently pursuing his doctorate in education. He replaces Matt Bertrand, who has assumed the position of Interim Principal at the Whitin Intermediate School.
“I am excited that we were able to attract a candidate of Mr. Fredette’s experience and background to our position,” said Dr. Rubin. “He will certainly be able to hit the ground running, and we look forward to seeing what he is able to contribute to our team and accomplish.”
“I am thrilled to join the incredible team of administrators, teachers, and staff at Uxbridge High School,” said Mr. Fredette. “It is an honor to become part of a school with such a strong reputation for excellence, and I look forward to getting to know the students, staff, and community while contributing to the great work already happening at Uxbridge.”
Mr. Fredette was hired following a selection and interview process that involved meeting with support staff, students, parents, and classroom teachers. He anticipates starting at UHS in mid-August.
