🙌 **HUGE congratulations to Moses Aviation student TJ Griffin!** ✈️

TJ, from Sabinal, Texas, is a man of many talents. By trade, he’s an electrical engineer, but his skill set doesn't stop there. Whether it's welding, tackling plumbing projects, or self-contracting the build of his own home, TJ truly can do it all.

His passion for aviation actually began in the virtual world! What started as an interest sparked by home flight simulators has now translated into earning his real-world wings. 🎮➡️✈️

Now, he's adding one more impressive title to his resume: **Pilot**.

This evening, with **only 9 hours** of flight instruction under his belt, TJ took to the skies for his very first solo flight! 🌅🙌 It takes a lot of dedication and skill to transition from the simulator to the cockpit and solo that quickly, and he absolutely nailed it.

Moses Aviation is proud to congratulate Cody Fancher, who earned his Private Pilot’s Certificate today.

This achievement is the latest milestone in a highly productive year for Cody. After graduating from Utopia High School in May and being accepted into Schreiner University's Aviation program, he spent his summer working with the Texas Department of Transportation assisting with roadwork projects in Real County.

Cody’s dedication was particularly evident in the final stages of his training. His preparation time for his Check Ride was unexpectedly cut short due to the severe flooding that affected Real and Uvalde Counties on July 16th. Despite being flooded in at his house and then being asked to work extra hours at TXDOT to help with numerous road repairs, he remained focused, adapted to the circumstances, and knocked it out of the park on his Check Ride today.

As he looks toward the future, Cody has positioned himself for continued success. This fall, he will enter Schreiner's Aviation program with a distinct advantage over his peers. Having already secured his Private Pilot’s License with us, he will begin working on his Instrument Rating while his freshman classmates begin their initial PPL training. This proactive approach saved him well over $10,000 in flight training costs.

We commend Cody for his strong work ethic, resilience, and forward-thinking approach to his collegiate and aviation career.

Please join us in congratulating Simone Peterson of Eagle Pass, who officially earned her Private Pilot's Certificate today!
Simone’s journey is a testament to true dedication, resilience, and serious hard work. She progressed through our training program exceptionally quickly, which is an incredible feat on its own—but she accomplished all of this while working demanding night shifts.

Getting to the finish line wasn't without its hurdles. When it finally came time for her check ride, Mother Nature had other plans. Simone faced a lot of frustration and difficulty getting her exam completed due to three weather cancellations on her scheduled dates. Despite the repeated delays, she stayed focused, kept her skills sharp, and never lost her momentum.

She finally got the clear skies she needed and nailed it today.

Simone is going to take a very well-deserved two-week break to catch up on rest before jumping right back into the cockpit with her CFI Ryan Rhodes to start her Instrument Rating.

We are incredibly proud of your unwavering commitment to your aviation goals, Simone! ☁️⛈️🌧️☀️🪪✈️

Finally, we want to extend a special thank you and congratulations to her DPE, Vince Sosa, on administering his very first check ride! In a remarkable twist of fate, Simone flew N738CX for her test. Back in the early 2000s, when Vince was a young CFI instructing at KUVA, he traveled to KGTU with Moses Aviation partner Annie Moses to purchase 8CX—Annie's first airplane. It was a unique, full-circle moment for everyone involved.

🎂☁️ Bustin’ through clouds and birthday cake! ☁️🎂
Adrian Oliveira had a double-celebration today! Not only did he celebrate his birthday, but he officially added a new title to his name: PRIVATE PILOT!
Adrian crushed his checkride this afternoon at KBWD, proving that the best way to celebrate a trip around the sun is with a trip around the airport.
He and CFI Ryan Rhodes weren’t sure the WX was going to cooperate, but by 10am they had filed an IFR Flight Plan and were on their way. It’s not too often that a Private Pilot gets an Instrument lesson in actual IMC on his way to a Check Ride, but today it all worked out.
All those hours of studying and practice officially paid off.
The sky is no longer the limit, Adrian—it’s your playground!

🎉 Blue skies and huge congratulations to Jay Williams of Sabinal!

Today, this determined Moses Aviation student officially earned his Private Pilot’s license — and let me tell you, he’s been training for this while running a farm AND coaching basketball kids like a boss!

Squeezing in lessons between dawn chores in the fields and afternoon practices on the court, Jay never missed a beat. Today all that hustle paid off in the biggest way possible.

We knew you could do it! The sky is officially yours.
