Attention all FIRE, EMS, POLICE and MILITARY PARTNERS: Please see the attached email from Tunnel to Towers.
Dear Police, Fire, EMS, and Military/ROTC Partners,
The 2025 Tunnel to Towers Central New York (Utica) event will take place on Sunday, August 16, 2026, and we are seeking your agency’s support to help make this tribute a success.
We are requesting:
Vehicles/Apparatus to Line the Course
Apparatus will be positioned along Genesee Street, starting at Bank Place heading south.
Fire Departments: Please indicate what type of vehicle you will be sending (Squad, Rescue, Engine, Truck Company, etc.).
If you are sending a Truck/Aerial, we ask you to display an American Flag over the course if possible.
If you wish to partner with another department for a flag display, please note this in your reply.
Personnel in Uniform or Turnout Gear to Hold American Flags
Personnel will line the race route holding flags in the same area (across the street).
Flags will be provided.
At the conclusion of the race, all uniformed personnel will march down Genesee Street through the finish line as part of the tribute.
Reporting Instructions
All vehicles and personnel should report by 7:45 a.m. to the intersection of Court Street and Genesee Street for final instructions.
Flag pickup will take place at the municipal parking lot at Blandina Street & Union Street at 8:15 AM.
Route Map: Please follow the green line on the attached map via Court Street to the yellow X, where a firefighter will guide you to your position on Genesee Street.
Red zones: Fire apparatus
Blue zones: Police and EMS vehicles
Encourage Participation in the 5K Run or Walk
We also encourage agencies to register and recruit members to run or walk in support of this great cause. A registration form is attached.
Response Requested by August 10th, 2026
Please reply by August 10th and indicate:
Whether your agency will send apparatus/vehicles
Whether you will provide personnel to hold flags
What type of apparatus you are sending (for fire departments)
If you plan to display a flag via aerial/truck company
If partnering with another agency to display flags
Every Volunteer has to sign up this year to be allowed on the course - insurance thing. Please sign up under the following link
