Yesterday, we welcomed 100 eighth-grade students from Holland Patent for a day of exploration at our Utica Campus.

The day included campus tours led by our amazing Summer Resident Assistants, lunch, and a fun STEM-themed activity with MVCC Instructor Devin Sonne and Dr. Shahida Dar, Interim Dean of the School of STEM Transfer.

Even with unpredictable weather and rain, the energy these students brought to campus made the day a success. Thanks for visiting, Holland Patent — we loved having you! 💚

Last month, we welcomed a group of incoming students from New York City to our Utica Campus for an overnight experience designed to help them feel at home before the fall semester begins.

The students — representing several NYC high schools — stayed in the residence halls, ate meals in the dining hall, connected with advisors, and explored the many resources available to support their success. They also built connections with each other through social activities, like a BBQ on the Quad that included an appearance by President VanWagoner, who stopped by to welcome them to MVCC.

We’re excited to see you all in the fall! 💚
