We have one of the most beautiful “Kong Red” coleus plants I’ve ever encountered this year. There is a lot of variability in how they look based on culture and light level, but this one if far enough off the normal spectrum that it really took me a while to decide it’s actually a “red.” The ultimate tip-off is that the reds have a solid or darker central vein and a halo of yellow/white at the -tips- of the central color area. “Kong Rose” tends to have a light colored central vein and yellow-white background behind the -base- of the central color area. If you look closely, even though the color of this one leans heavily toward pink, the white contrasting section is barely visible at the tip of the raspberry-pink area!

We won’t have any plants this spring or for the foreseeable future... we’ve had a blast, but moving on to other projects — and moving houses too! (So if you knock on our door, the new owners will be confused!)
That said - I LOVE to help people with gardening questions, info about seeds, starting plants etc. Please don’t hesitate to send a message, ask a question or check in. It’s been a pleasure to serve you these last 5 years!

Nigella “Miss Jekyll” (or Love-in-a-mist). You only need to broadcast some seed in a bare sunny area one year and they will reseed year after year. This is a volunteer I allow virtually anywhere it pops up. These varied white to blue tones are all in one plant.

Mazurkia Zinnia. I’ll be honest... I don’t love this variety because many of the 2-toned whirligig variations are just not pleasing to me. BUT - occasionally it does this or something else spectacular, so I can’t quit it.
