A few little glimpses of the very serious business happening around here lately… 😂

We dotted the spots on some startled-looking monsters, created tiny Play-Doh worlds, and brought Turbo the snail and Mr. Wompus to life. Our refrigerator is quickly becoming home to a very colorful cast of characters!

Through all this silliness, the girls practiced:

• Fine motor skills
• Following directions
• Color recognition and matching
• Creativity and imagination
• Patience and concentration
• Making choices independently

There is an impressive amount of learning tucked inside googly eyes, sticker dots, Play-Doh, and one snail with absolutely no intention of moving quickly. 💕🐌👀

Today was one of those beautiful, happy-sad days at Angie’s Childcare. We celebrated two very special graduates, Brooks and Jaya, with graduation caps, cupcakes, certificates, and smiles big enough to fill the whole room. 🎓🧁

During their time here, they practiced so much more than letters, numbers, and colors:

• Making friends and caring for others
• Sharing, taking turns, and working things out
• Using their imaginations in wonderfully big ways
• Trying again when something felt hard
• Finding their voices and becoming more independent
• Bringing their own special joy into our days

Somehow, while we were busy playing, creating, laughing, and learning, these two grew right before our eyes.

The graduation caps may be little, but the pride behind them is enormous. I am so proud of the children Brooks and Jaya have become, and so grateful that Angie’s Childcare got to be part of their story.

They may be leaving with certificates in their hands, but they are taking a piece of our hearts with them. Once one of Angie’s littles, always one of Angie’s littles. 💛

This morning, Angie’s Childcare turned into the sweetest little bakery! We measured, poured, stirred, mixed, and waited patiently while our dough became two beautiful loaves of homemade bread. 🍞

Through baking today, the kids practiced:

• Measuring and early math skills
• Following directions in the correct order
• Taking turns and working together
• Fine motor skills through pouring and stirring
• Watching how yeast makes dough grow
• Patience while our bread mixed, rose, and baked

There was flour on the counter, excitement around the mixer, and plenty of peeking to see what was happening next. By the end of the morning, the whole daycare smelled warm and wonderful.

There is something extra special about eating food you helped create with your own two little hands. Our tiny bakers were very proud of those golden loaves, and they should be! 🥰🍞

Sometimes you just have to hand them the instruments and see what happens. 😂🎶

Apparently, what happens is a full-blown performance of "We Will Rock You!" 🥁

I have no idea where they came up with it, but they knew exactly what they were doing. And Miss Ellie absolutely stole the show, spinning around and singing at the top of her lungs like the little rockstar she is. 🎤⭐

No lesson plan. No rehearsal. Just pure childhood joy, a whole lot of noise, and one very enthusiastic daycare band. 🫶

Brooks and his 3-D crafts… 🐍

Today’s request was a snake, so we made an accordion snake together!

Meet Snickers. 💚

Brooks has such a creative mind, and I love helping him turn his ideas into something he can hold, play with, and proudly show off. These are the moments that make our days so much fun. 🫶

📚✨ Sometimes the perfect book finds the perfect child.

If you know Miss Oaklee, you know she gets absolutely thrilled anytime she discovers pockets. Dresses with pockets, jackets with pockets... if it has a pocket, she's excited to see what treasures it can hold. ❤️

So when I spotted *A Dress With Pockets* at the library, I couldn't resist bringing it home. I had a feeling it would be a hit... and I was right! From the very first page, she was completely captivated.

To make the story even more special, we created a custom coloring page starring Miss Oaklee herself, complete with a dress full of wonderful pockets just like in the story. She loved seeing herself become part of the adventure.

Moments like these are one of my favorite parts of childcare. When you notice what makes a child light up, you can turn an ordinary library book into something that feels like it was written just for them.

Through this activity we explored:
• A love of books and storytelling
• Imagination and pretend play
• Vocabulary and conversation
• Observation and making personal connections
• Creativity through art and coloring

There's something magical about helping children see themselves inside a story. 💛

🌋🔥 ALERT! The floor has officially turned to LAVA! 🔥🌋

The kids will be arriving to find a room full of glowing hot lava, fiery balloons, party lights, music, and one very important mission...

Don't touch the floor!

Today we're throwing our very own **Floor Is Lava Party**, where every jump, hop, leap, and giggle is part of the adventure. We'll be dancing over lava, completing silly challenges, and using lots of imagination as we escape the molten magma together.

Along the way we'll be building:
• Balance and coordination
• Gross motor skills
• Problem-solving
• Listening and following directions
• Teamwork and cheering on our friends
• Big imaginations and even bigger smiles

I have a feeling there will be lots of dramatic "AHHHH! The lava's coming!" moments today. 😄

Who else remembers playing *The Floor Is Lava* as a kid? Some games never go out of style... they just get a lot more balloons! ❤️🌋🎈
