Royalty for a day! 👑 Our 1st graders wrapped up their CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts) "Different Lands, Similar Stories" unit by sequencing story pictures and crafting a custom crown for each folktale we read. Way to go, readers! 📚

Homecoming Week wouldn't be complete without our amazing classroom parties! 🎉 From delicious snacks and creative crafts to fun games, our students brought all the Homecoming spirit today. A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful PTO for organizing everything, and to all the parent volunteers who stepped up to make it such a memorable time! 🙌❤️ We also loved having a special visit from the UHS Homecoming Court—thank you for stopping by every classroom and joining in on the fun! 👑✨

Did you know the ancient Maya wrote on long, screenfold books called a codex?
Our 5th-graders just finished researching and crafting their very own replica codices! Then, they stepped up to present their findings to classmates. History comes alive when you make it yourself! 📚

Our 4th and 5th graders had a great time at the Civic Center this week where they got to meet and see "Mr. C Live." Kevin "Mister C" is an educator, Emmy-nominated/winning producer, and creator of DIY Science Time and Full STEAM Ahead. His high-energy STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) features interactive science experiments, music, media, and humor and is designed for students and families. Our very own Claire Shaw got picked to come on stage to help Mr. C with the show!
