The Urbandale Community School District's Millard A. Olmsted Elementary School is a culturally and economically diverse public elementary school located in Urbandale, Iowa. Our school's design, development, and construction is a part of the Urbandale 2018 bond referendum and paid for through general obligation bonds. Construction of our new Olmsted Elementary School began in June 2019 and will be

completed in the summer of 2021 in order to welcome students and staff for the 2021-22 school year. During the 2-year construction phase, Olmsted students and staff have been relocated to Jensen Elementary and Karen Acres Elementary. The new Olmsted Elementary school will be a 2-story, 4-section building (i.e. Preschool programming for 3s and 4s will also be a part of our school community! A natural palette for the exterior with subtle use of color will welcome families into a school full of natural light and flexible spaces that are conducive to supporting learners now and into the future. Students and educators can enjoy outdoor learning opportunities in the courtyard nestled between the two main wings of the building. A HUGE thank you to our partners: DLR and Stahl Construction
