Our Karen Acres 5th graders have been busy planning for the next heat wave! ☀️🔥 Students shared their Project-Based Learning (PBL) presentations today about why Urbandale needs a city pool. Students conducted research, designed blueprints for their dream aquatic center, calculated the volume for each pool area, crafted a presentation & perfected their presentation skills through this fun & engaging project! Many thanks to the phenomenal KA 5th Gr Teachers Cara Heffernan & Kelli Bormann! ❤️💙

During tonight’s School Board meeting, our Urbandale High School team shared highlights about UHS Learning Labs which provide specific skill interventions for unfinished learning in math, literacy & English. After providing over 225 weekly interventions, UHS is tracking measurable academic growth! Well-done, UHS students & teachers!
