In a lab at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, science looks straight out of a sci-fi movie.
Researchers are using wearable technology such as electrode-studded caps, smart shirts and wristbands to explore how stress affects the brain, heart and muscles. Their work could make diagnosing and managing anxiety more accessible and affordable.
Supported by the National Center for Supercomputing Applications and Jump ARCHES, this project combines engineering, medicine and data to advance mental health care.
