The 10th annual CU Jazz Festival Opening Night Party continues with Trio M performing in the Foellinger Great Hall. Active since 2006, this all-star jazz collective with bassist Mark Dresser and drummer Matt Wilson has toured all around the world and recorded two critically acclaimed releases, The Big Picture (Cryptogramophone, 2007) and The Guest House (Enja/Yellowbird, 2012). Critics have described the group as “a magnificent unit” (Owen McNally, Hartford Courant), “an extremely empathetic union” (Mike Shanley, JazzTimes), “a trio with high ambitions and impressive reach” (Daniel Spicer, Jazzwise) and “three versatile progressive-jazz luminaries with decades of respective experience” (Time Out New York).
