Happy Boss's Day!

Today is a chance to recognize the leaders who help keep the MCCESC moving forward every day!

Our Superintendent, Director, Treasurer, and Director of Operations each bring a different perspective, responsibility, and area of expertise to the table. Together, they help guide our organization, support our staff, solve problems, and keep everything moving, even when there are about a million things happening at once!

Leadership isn't always easy, and so much of the work happens behind the scenes. Today, we simply want to say: Thank you for leading, supporting, problem-solving, and always keeping the bigger picture in mind.

A big thank-you to all of the guest readers who have visited Yoder Learning Center so far this year! Whether you're part of the Madison-Champaign ESC or our local community, we appreciate you taking the time to share a story with our students.

There is something special about watching students light up over a good story, share a laugh, or enjoy having someone sit down with them. These moments bring so much joy to our classrooms and create opportunities for meaningful connections that go beyond the pages of a book.

Thank you for being part of these moments and helping make library time a little more special. We are grateful for everyone who has joined us and look forward to welcoming more guest readers throughout the year!

We love seeing our preschool team out in the community!

A few of our preschool staff members joined Urbana’s Homecoming Parade, and we absolutely love seeing them included in the celebration! Our staff do so much for our students every day, and it’s pretty special to see them represented and showing their Urbana pride outside the classroom!

Happy Custodian Appreciation Day!

Today we’re celebrating Ben, Eleisea, and Matt, the people who keep our buildings clean, safe, welcoming, and ready for our students and staff every day. Their hard work often happens behind the scenes, but it makes a BIG difference!

The Social Committee at Yoder Learning Center is raising funds to provide fun treats, snacks, and special surprises for staff throughout the year, and they found a pretty entertaining way to start!

Staff had the opportunity to donate for the chance to pie some familiar faces: Ziek Rieckhoff-Roberts and Kayla Woolever!

The pies were flying, the laughs were plentiful, and the Social Committee is one step closer to keeping the fun going at Yoder! A big thank-you to Ziek and Kayla for being such good sports, and to the Social Committee for finding a fun way to bring some extra smiles to the school year!

Last Friday, we were excited to welcome Dr. Lisa Audet to the ESC for two engaging professional learning sessions focused on supporting children with autism.

We were thrilled to see such a great turnout! Participants spent the day gaining practical strategies and a deeper understanding of the role of play, language, socialization, emotional regulation, literacy, and Gestalt language processing. We love seeing educators come together to learn, share ideas, and add new tools to their toolbox for supporting students. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a valuable day of professional learning!
