Tune in to Catch the Beat this evening at 5:30 pm for a conversation between host Cope Cumpston and Joy Yang, master of piano and theremin, frequent performer, and founder of the Interdisciplinary Institute here in town, which brings together STEAM research with teaching, creativity and community.

Joy masterminds opportunities for collaborations and performances exploring the sciences and the arts.

Her music is often played on WEFT and she can be heard as a frequent special guest on Jason Finkelman’s “Fanfare for the Speeding Bullet” on Sunday nights.

You can hear today’s “Catch the Beat” program on 90.1 FM, weft.org/listen, and on the WEFT App.

The show will be archived on WEFT.org under Public Affairs.

Announcing…our partnership with The Scratching Post! The latest, ONLY, cat café in town! Have you been there yet? Because if you haven’t…now is your chance!

Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 6-8pm!

Music for animals, music that reminds us of animals, and music that brings out the ‘animal’ inside of you! Come for low-key DJ vibes that have you and our cats lounging to the deliciously magikal snax and pats (and board games, of course). Think Lo-Fi beats to study and relax to, Vaporwave, CityPop, KPop, J-Pop, Lounge, Jazz ++. Bring your friends, or come solo, for a unique time that will have you bumpin and relaxin.
