PRI is excited to launch the "Insight to Impact" lecture series, focusing on data visualization and science communication. These workshops are tailored for researchers at all levels, featuring expert-led discussions on AI-powered visuals, storytelling with data, and more. Sessions are held Wednesdays from 3–4 p.m., in person at the Illinois State Water Survey or via Zoom.

"From Past to Present: A Study of AI-driven Gamification in Heritage Education," co-authored by first year Informatics PhD students Sepehr Vaez Afshar and Sarvin Eshaghi alongside Professors Mahyar Hadighi from Texas Tech University and Guzden Varinlioglu from the University of Liverpool, explores the transformative potential of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and gamification within heritage education.

Presented at eCAADe 2024 in Nicosia, Cyprus, the research demonstrates how AI can revolutionize learning experiences by creating engaging, personalized, and immersive educational environments. This innovative approach not only enhances student engagement and learning outcomes but also preserves and disseminates cultural heritage through digital platforms. The conference provided a significant opportunity to showcase this work to an international audience, enabling the authors to receive valuable feedback and engage with other experts in the field.
