K-5 IMAGINE STEM Saturdays is back in session at !

Families explored light and color in the K-3 classroom and pentomino pattern puzzles in the 4-5 classroom. Thanks to Illinois Center for Family and Community Engaged STEAMM affiliates partnering with WYSE: for mentoring our instructors, the IMAGINE STEM team of instructors, and for curriculum design and support!

Our latest IMAGINE STEM Saturday SESSION!

Saturday morning explorations included programming autonomous vehicles to navigate the surface of the moon (Micro-G NExT Team of the ), using mathematics to manipulate motorized mirror angles for a laser light show (), and exploring models with atomic simulations and plasma in a jar (Dr Ziehm ). In partnership with Principal’s Scholars at Illinois.

Join UIUC SWE for their Strong Women Strong Girls event on Saturday, April 25th, 2026 from 9am-2pm!

This event is open to all 3rd-5th grade girls and any mother figures. Come learn about engineering through engaging activities and fun challenges! Lunch will be provided.

Calling all Gen Z Changemakers! Applications are now open to join the 2026 Class of Carnegie Young Leaders, a yearlong fellowship for young people to bring bold change to their communities. Brought to you by C&S (). 
The first 500 Carnegie Young Leaders are already making waves with their projects across the U.S., from disaster preparedness to food access to mental health support.

Here’s what you’ll get:
- Up to $7,500 in funding to cover stipends and project expenses

To our Champaign, Urbana, Rantoul community!

This February and March, PSP will be offering FREE Saturday STEM/STEAM workshops for 6th-12th grade students on the University of Illinois campus. These sessions are designed to help students explore science and technology topics beyond the classroom while building skills that support long-term academic success.

If you’re looking for an accessible, supportive way to engage your student in enrichment outside the school day, we would love for you to consider joining us!

Course Offerings
6th - 8th Grade: Animals, Ecosystems & Classification: How We Organize Life
Explore how scientists classify animals and ecosystems while learning how living organisms are connected through habitats, food webs, and biodiversity

7th - 8th Grade: Introduction to Quantum Physics
This mini-series introduces students to the basics of quantum physics through interactive lessons and simple experiments that explore particles, waves, and probability.
9th - 10th Grade: Newton’s Laws: Physics in Action
Investigate motion, force, and reactions through experiments and real-world examples that demonstrate Newton’s Laws in everyday life. Build on previous knowledge and prepare for future coursework!

9th - 12th Grade: The Science & Technology Behind Music Creation
Examine how sound works by exploring frequencies, waves, theory, acoustics, and the technology used in music recording, production, and performance.

11th - 12th Grade: Financial Literacy for Life Beyond High School
This workshop helps students develop practical financial skills, including budgeting, understanding taxes, credit card/statement literacy, and learning the basics of saving and investing.
