Ibagon, Jaramillo, and Fanelli (previously known as Jimena, Bibiana, and Natalia) received their diplomas, were hooded, and celebrated before they continue on their life journey, which undoubtedly will lead them to great achievements. Bibiana Jaramillo successfully defended her doctoral dissertation today. Her seminar focused on the potential for improving the digestibility of minerals, energy, and amino acids by using 25OHD3 or phytase in diets for pigs. Bibiana will soon return to her native Colombia to continue her career. Best of luck Bibiana. We are very proud of you.

Today Jimena Ibagon successfully defended her PhD dissertation about the use of soybean meal in diets for pigs. Jimena has been very productive during her time as a Graduate student in our team and completed 8 experiments towards her dissertation. She hope to continue her career as a nutritionist in a commercial feed company in the US or somewhere in Latin America. Big congratulations to Jimena and best of luck in the future.

Natalia Fanelli successfully defended her PhD dissertation yesterday. She gave a seminar discussing her research investigating selected proteins from the salmon, seaweed, and egg industries as potential amino acid sources for pigs, humans, or dogs. She then had a chance to defend her dissertation in front of her committee. Soon-to-be Dr. Fanelli is looking for a job in the food or feed industry or in regulatory agencies.
