The MUSES collaboration had a strong showing at the 2025 Strangeness in Quark Matter conference held at UCLA! A few highlights include Physics Illinois postdoc Dr. Mateus Reinke Pelicer giving a plenary talk on Nuclear Astrophysics and Kent State University Department of Physics postdoc Dr. Michael Kahangirwe receiving the Best Poster award as well as a Flash Talk!

New results from some of our MUSES collaborators on the effect of magnetic fields on the Urca Rates in Neutron Stars!
Effect of Magnetic Fields on Urca Rates in Neutron Star Mergers
Isospin-equilibrating weak processes, called ``Urca" processes, are of fundamental importance in astrophysical environments like (proto-)neutron stars, neutron star mergers, and supernovae. In these environments, matter can reach high temperatures of tens of MeVs and be subject to large magnetic fie...

New MUSES module just dropped!
The paper on the CMF++ (chiral mean field model in c++) just hit the arXiv. We are currently alpha testing the entire MUSES collaboration calculation engine, but CMF++ will be made publicly available with the beta release that we're anticipating in October 2024!

Over the past year, the US nuclear physics community came together to lay out the path for new research over the next 5-10 years. The results of this was written up in the Long Range Plan that was released last week. MUSES members participated in the process by giving talks at the town halls and writing white papers. The MUSES collaboration is especially excited about this blurb in the introduction of the long range plan emphasizing interdisciplinary collaborations!
