Congratulations to Electrical and Computer Engineering professor Tamer Başar, Materials Science and Engineering professor David Cahill and Physics professor Vidya Madhavan who have all been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. They will be inducted at a ceremony in Cambridge on Sept. 30.

Congratulations to Professor Shannon Sirk who received the NIH NIBIB R21 Trailblazer Award for her ongoing work in engineering both microbes and antibodies for human therapies. This three-year, $400,000 award is designed to help engineers pursue research programs at the interface of the life sciences, engineering, and physical sciences.
