One of our founders and instructors is going to represent TMHF as the first ever member of our club to give a seminar at an outside event!

Cactus Cup welcomes Jordan Kuneyl as an instructor this summer!

Jordan Kuneyl is a Co-Founder of, Instructor at, and Head of Recruitment for Tempered Mettle Historical Fencing (TMHF) in Champaign, Illinois. Jordan started his HEMA journey in 2021 and has grown into the role of mentor, leader, and community organizer in the local HEMA scene in downstate Illinois. Jordan specializes in administrative work, curriculum planning, and occasionally he even gets to fence!

Out with the old and in with the new. All school property is now moved to the new spot and we are just a few days away from being fully operational at our new spot. Double the space, AC, double the bathrooms, WIFI, and more! Hope to see you all there!

Lots of long hours and hard work are going into getting the new space ready for a HUGE Intro class and the debut of Teen Class. We hope to see everyone there!

Got to welcome some of our brothers and sisters from St. Louis School of Arms and Chicago Swordplay Guild down for a workshop by Jordan and a sparring session. Part of HEMA is becoming part of a nationwide community of excellent people dedicated to their art!

Champaign-Urbana Pride Fest 2026 will take place October 12th-17th with the Pride Parade + Fair taking place on October 17th. More to come about performances and the full week of programming and pride fun!

What's the best way to finish a villain's wardrobe? An iconic sword! Lindsay, Jordan, and Matt brought our historic knowledge and a pile of swords to 's villain themed q***r prom on Friday.

There's nothing quite like seeing the smile that comes from holding a sword for the first time. We were honored to help create a memorable night while letting people know about our next set of intro classes in June: one for adults and one for teens!
