Is your family new to Memorial School this year? We cannot wait to meet you! Join Mrs. Bell and Ms. Chuk on Monday, August 31st at 6:00pm in the Memorial cafeteria to learn more about what makes our school so special. We will share school-specific information and answer any questions that you may have as your student gets ready to start the school year with us.

On Tuesday, we welcomed students entering kindergarten (class of 2039!!) for screening and to participate in a kindergarten signing. We cannot wait to see them again in September.

A big congratulations to “Mrs. C” for being presented with a Golden Apple Award at last night’s school committee meeting. Alyssa Couture is everything you hope for in an early childhood educator; she is loving, positive, instills a love of learning, and helps children learn to believe in themselves. We are so lucky to have her!

Today we welcomed author, educator, and musician Dennis Mathew to Memorial for a full day of singing and smiles. “Mr. Dennis” taught our students some of his songs and read us one of his books. He signed almost 500 books and every student took one home today. Thank you to the Memorial PTO for funding this highly engaging opportunity for our students. And thank you, Dennis, for pouring your heart and soul into your work. It was a wonderful day! Check out our third graders singing along. 🎵🎶🎵

This year's Inspired Learning Day immersed our students in sessions related to jobs and careers. We had students engaged as sports agents/coaches/owners in a mock draft, entrepreneurs creating restaurants, bakeries, and other small businesses, nursing and medical students, park rangers, zoologists, nature photographers, engineers, space explorers, wellness instructors and more. My favorite part was watching students of multiple ages working together to learn and solve problems.

So grateful for the village that we have at Memorial. Field day just gets better and better every year. A big thank you (and sadly, farewell) to Erin and Nick Valcourt for coordinating this event one last time. Thank you to every family member who volunteered, shared supplies, or supported our PTO throughout the year to make this day a truly special one for the kids. 💚
