Our Toddler Focus:

Our educational approach allows many direct, hands-on experiences.Toddlers develop a variety of skills, including physical, language, social-emotional, cognitive, self-help, and gross motor. A predictable yet responsive daily routine meets the needs of children with both structure and flexibility. The whole class experience is a very important aspect of our program. By continually listening, and describing actions to our toddlers, we enhance vocabulary expand expressive language skills, increase awareness and develop self-esteem.

Our Threes Focus:

Our "Threes" Program is when socialization begins to blossom, and cooperative play becomes central to their school experience.
Many avenues of our curriculum are interwoven.
Together, the children engage in table-top activities handling various manipulatives, creating patterns, completing puzzles and engaging in other fine-motor activities. While the children delve into a multi-sensory, hands-on pre-writing program, they also begin to investigate the basic elements of pre-math through block building, sorting activities, sand and water play, and games. Our 3s begin to tackle the basics of writing through Handwriting Without Tears using Mat Man and other developmentally appropriate tools.

Our Pre-Kindergarten Focus:

The Upper Saddle River Children's Academy
"big kids" begin the year with a unit of study, "All About Me," exploring how they are each similar and different from their peers. Our Pre-K class also experiences exciting field trips around our purposeful play thematic units. The students always enjoy each of the thematic units. Each of these units connects creative arts, science, dramatic play, literacy and math-based activities. Full understanding comes when our students can see and experience it firsthand.
Raising butterflies and chick hatching in the classroom is a great way to help preschoolers see a life cycle in action.The Pre-Kindergarten program uses the Learning Without Tears program, which develops fine-motor skills and fosters Kindergarten readiness.

Our Kindergarten Focus:

Our Kindergarten program is designed to develop skills and foster individual growth in a nurturing small group environment. Our kindergarten curriculum is developmental and encourages all children to see themselves as readers, writers and problem solvers. We embrace students as unique individuals who develop and grow at different rates. We strive to create a cooperative classroom where children are encouraged to work together. Our attention to social interactions creates a positive learning environment for all.

Upper Saddle River Children’s Academy is hiring! We are looking to hire a few positions for the 2025-2026 school year. Ideally candidates would have some experience in early childhood, a love for children is a must, and any curriculum experience is great. We have an awesome team of teachers and staff already established and look forward to growing the team as the center continues to expand.
