Congratulations, Lacordaire Academy Upper School Class of 2026! You have been brave, bold, outspoken, creative, intelligent, fierce, loyal, kind, loving, talented, and determined. You have enriched our community in countless ways, and we are so proud of all that you have accomplished. We love you, we will miss you, and we hope you know that you will ALWAYS have a home here at lovely, lovely Lacordaire.

Today’s Upper School Honors and Alumni Induction Ceremony concluded with a cap toss! Since Upper School students graduate in traditional white gowns on Sunday, this ceremony is a special occasion when they wear their academic regalia and we celebrate their many awards and accomplishments, their acceptances into their TOP CHOICE colleges, and the more than 1,700 hours of community service completed by the Upper School girls this year. Congratulations, Class of 2026! We love you!

Each year, the Archdiocese of Newark’s Office of the Superintendent of Schools honors graduating eighth-grade students with the Outstanding Catholic School Graduate Award, recognizing those who exemplify Catholic values through their words, actions, and academic achievement. We are proud to announce that Sylvie Constantin ‘26, ‘30 has been named Lacordaire Academy’s Outstanding Catholic School Graduate. Sylvie was recently honored alongside other recipients at a special Archdiocesan ceremony (pictured).

Megan Mannato, Head of School, says about Sylvie: “Sylvie exemplifies Lacordaire’s Catholic values in all that she does here at the school and in the community. She is an individual that shows commitment to her academics and great integrity. We are so proud of her for receiving this honor voted on by the faculty and staff of Lacordaire.“

8th-graders in Ms. Ballantyne’s theatre elective class took to the stage for a lively reading of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, reimagined with a modern twist. Filled with laughter, mistaken identities, and plenty of heart, the classic tale of love and disguise came to life for the Laco audience.

Lucy Mikula ’27 spent a day last week stepping into the role of Head of School for the Day, filling in for Mrs. Mannato! This annual gala prize is always a favorite. During her time at the helm, Miss Mikula worked around the office, led a fire drill, visited our littles in their classrooms, and made sure everything was running smoothly. All in a day’s work!
