You can legally use deadly force ONLY... ONLY if all three conditions are met:

1. Imminent Threat
You reasonably believe you're facing immediate danger of death or serious injury.

2. No Safe Escape
You must try to retreat if safely possible — except when you're in your home (Castle Doctrine applies).

3. Proportional Response
The force used must match the threat — deadly force can't be used to protect just property.

If those conditions are met, deadly force may be justified — but every case depends on the exact facts.
