What’s ONE thing your child is working on right now?

Independence? Big feelings? Letters & sounds? Sharing/social skills? Potty training? Bedtime? Or maybe something completely different? 😂

As a preschool teacher, I love hearing what families are working on at home because so many of these same things show up in the classroom too. 💛

It’s being able to ask for help. Work through frustration. Build confidence. Become more independent. AND yes… we’re learning our academics too! ✏️📚

We work on more than letters and numbers here. Independence, social skills, confidence, and learning how to do things for themselves are all part of the day.

Sometimes changing just a few words can completely change the way we respond to a child. 🌱

The goal isn’t to stop children from having big feelings. It’s to help them move through those feelings while we stay calm, clear, and consistent.

And yes—you can validate how a child feels and still hold the boundary. 💛

These are the kinds of simple language shifts I use as an early childhood educator and included throughout my Gentle & Firm Behavior Toolkit for parents and teachers.

Preschool learning can look a little different here. 💛

I believe young children learn best when they’re able to explore, practice, move, communicate, make choices, and actually experience what they’re learning.

At Heart & Mind Learning Center, we use a Montessori-inspired, hands-on approach while also helping our preschoolers build the independence, social skills, and early academic foundation they’ll need for kindergarten. 🌱

And because we keep our program small, I’m able to really get to know each child and meet them where they are.

We currently have ONE preschool opening available in Drexel Hill!
