Service for Sight is helping redefine what's possible! 🦯

The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) received a 2025 Service for Sight grant to continue providing leadership development, peer networking and self-advocacy skills for Canadian students in grades 11 to the first year of post-secondary education through the SCORE Scholars program. This grant helped ensure that participants experienced a well-rounded mix of academic, career and recreational activities through hands-on opportunities.

Our hearts go out to our members experiencing displacement or damage due to last week's storms in the Midwest, particularly the intense and deadly flooding in Indiana and Ohio. Delta Gamma is here for those affected, and we want to remind our members that the Delta Gamma Foundation offers Crisis Grants to support sisters during this challenging time.

If you or another member needs financial assistance, you may be eligible for a Crisis Grant. The link to the application can be found here https://www.deltagamma.org/foundation/individual-member-support/ or call 614-481-8169 to speak with a Foundation staff member.

If you are able to help your sisters facing a crisis from a natural disaster or other financial hardship, please consider making a gift to the Foundation’s Crisis Grant fund at donate.deltagamma.org/CrisisGrants.

Service for Sight grants expand possibilities for children and teens living with blindness or low vision!

The Carroll Center for the Blind received a 2025 Service for Sight grant to support its transformative summer programs, which served 65 children and teens last summer. The grant helped ensure that participants — many from low-income families — had access to safe, inclusive and developmentally appropriate opportunities to build confidence, independence and social connections.

With this support, the Carroll Center was able to deliver high-quality, specialized programming that empowered youth to explore, learn and grow alongside peers with shared experiences.

Your will is one of the most personal and important financial documents you will create. And, a will is especially important for women to have. Maura Brady Sharp, Gamma Zeta-Louisiana State, shares why she believes supporting the Delta Gamma Foundation through a planned gift in her will is so important.

"Despite being a lawyer married to another lawyer, my husband Dan passed away unexpectedly without a will. Navigating all that is left behind when someone we love dies is a long, painful process. Having experienced this firsthand, I vowed to make decisions about my own estate now."

August is designated as National Make-A-Will Month, and we are encouraging all sisters to create a will — or ensure your current will is updated. Read more about Maura's story here: https://deltagamma.myplannedgift.org/why-donors-give/maura-brady-sharp

Access to early intervention can change outcomes for children with cerebral/cortical visual impairment (CVI).

Thanks to a Service for Sight grant, Anchor Center for Blind Children, one of the five Delta Gamma Schools, expanded it's CVI Program to improve early identification, diagnostic accuracy and intervention outcomes for infants and young children with CVI.

"Funding strengthened our capacity to deliver specialized assessments, expand access to evidence-based interventions, provide family education and coaching, and train healthcare professionals and educators in best practices for CVI care," shared Savannah Wippel, director of development and community relations

Did you know that if you have a donor-advised fund (DAF), you can recommend a grant to the Delta Gamma Foundation right from our website? Giving from your DAF allows you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to the Foundation and other qualified charities. You can recommend a one-time or recurring grant now to make an immediate impact, or use your fund as a tool for future charitable gifts.

Gifts from DAFs make a big impact on organizations like ours and empower the Foundation to do good for our sisters, for our Fraternity leadership initiatives, and for Service for Sight.
