I successfully completed my debut in Asia at Jeju Island South Korea. I performed in 2 student recitals. I performed Schubert Waltz in B Minor, I Fancy the Cold Green Moon and Chopin Nocturne c .

Today I practiced sight singing the solfege for the soprano line in tempo...it was difficult but I pulled it off! Then when I played the whole piece in tempo, it felt much easier to do! I am working on mastering this piece for an important master class coming up in a few months! If you are a beginner at reading and sight singing, don't give up hope! The skills do get easier and you will master them! I still remember being in aural skills/music theory one in college, the beginning level skills felt so difficult to do! 5 years later and I can now read and sight sing, along with play and sing/conduct and sing on a more advanced level. If you are reading this, please keep practicing your skills no matter how difficult they feel, the neuropathways in your mind just need time to recognize the skills!

The key 🗝️ to acquiring and retaining musical mastery is to sight sing the voices. Sing them in your comfortable vocal range, if the notes are too high or low for you to sing, you will still retain the information it you sing it in your comfortable octave register/Tessatura. This will help you to sight read and memorize with less stress and more ease, helping to prevent burnout and overuse injury as well.

Now I am focusing on memorizing this piece. I already memorized another piece in this series. Roman numeral analysis, aural skills and sight singing and solfege training along with interval training will help you acquire the skills in a way that feels more natural to learn and memorize. Over several years time of training, the skills become more natural.
