📅SAVE THE DATE📅

Join UA+Ed and the UA Alumni Association for an engaging evening with UAHS Class of 1971 alumna and Distinguished Alumni Award recipient Rose Gottemoeller as she discusses her newest book, Security Through Cooperation, on September 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Friends Theater at the Upper Arlington Public Library.

An internationally recognized leader in diplomacy, arms control and global security, Gottemoeller was the first woman to serve as the Deputy Secretary General of NATO. She is currently the William J. Perry Lecturer at Stanford University’s Center for International Security and Cooperation. 🌟

Earlier that day, Rose will also return to UAHS to speak with social studies classes so they, too, can learn about her career and her experience at UAHS.🖤💛

🚨Grant in Action Alert 🚨

UA+Ed was proud to support Barrington Progressive’s Meeting the Needs of Our Community project last school year -- students learned about hunger, homelessness and what it means to be the future citizens and leaders our world needs. 🌟

As part of the project, students built, decorated and installed 5 Free Little Pantries around Columbus. Over the summer, Barrington Progressive families helped keep them stocked!🥫

Student Charlie T. said it best, "We made a difference. We knew that we were helping people, including kids. That really matters."

Learn. Build. Give. Repeat. That’s a pretty powerful ripple effect. 💛

We’re proud to celebrate this year’s Amity Difference Maker Award Winners! 🖤💛

Congrats to Colson S. and the Barrington team for making our schools more caring, connected and inclusive. We can’t wait to see the ripple effect of your work! 🌟

Celebrating our difference-makers! 💛

Upper Arlington Education Foundation presented its second annual Amity Difference Maker Awards to people who help create a school culture where everyone feels safe, valued and heard.

🌟 Colson S., an Upper Arlington High School senior, was recognized for his work and advocacy as a member of the Ohio Su***de Prevention Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council.

🌟 The Barrington Elementary team of Katie Benton, Nicole Staker, Ashley Stechschulte and Kelli Wilcox was recognized for their yearlong authentic learning project, Meeting the Needs of Our Community.

Both are great examples of compassion, leadership and a commitment to strengthening our school community.

Each recipient received a $1,000 grant from the Upper Arlington Education Foundation to further their impact.

Big transitions are easier when you don’t have to navigate them alone. 🖤💛

UA+Ed funding helped train two additional teachers to lead UAHS's Link Crew program.

On the first day, upperclassmen welcome freshmen, help them find their way around and make connections—helping them start high school feeling a little more confident and a lot more connected.
