Now, when students have flexible schedules, is a great time for them to prepare for the ACT and/or SAT. While there are some schools that are making these tests optional for the class of 2021 (this list is extremely limited), most are requiring scores for consideration for merit money.

Interesting news on the ACT front.... We consult on test taking strategies to enable students to be their best.

Beginning with the September 2020 ACT test, students will have more choices, a better experience, and greater confidence that their ACT test scores best reflect their hard work, overall academic achievement, and potential for success throughout their lives.

Shawn helps students optimize their ACT scores. He is offering a new course this summer...

ACT Intro - Demystify the Test

This five session course is for students with minimal to no experience with the ACT college admissions test. Shawn will work with small groups, covering each of the test’s multiple choice subjects, emphasizing strategy and conceptual understanding, and administering practice tests questions. Students will walk out of this course with a sense of how to optimize their score on the ACT.

-ACT Intro (stress reduction) - rising Freshmen/Sophomores
-ACT Prep - rising Juniors/Seniors
-Middle school book clubs

Summer 2017 - Small Group Programs

--Read, Think, Talk, Write (rising 5th-8th graders) - Students strengthen reading comprehension, maximize efficiency, and develop verbal and written communication skills.

--Math Exploration - (rising 4th-8th graders) - Students maintain and grow math reasoning skills through exposure to varied material.

--Book Clubs (rising 6th-9th graders) - Students follow a paced schedule for summer required reading. During our sessions we analyze, discuss, and write.

--Group ACT Preparation (high schoolers) - Shawn helps students meet their goals by discovering and fine tuning the approach which suits them best.
