Congratulations to the Assistance League of the Foothill Communities. They are among the 2026 Upland Foothill Kiwanis grant recipients. Cindy Hall of the Assistance League gave us some background information on the work of their organization.

We had a wonderful visit from Gino Filippi to update us on the history of the wine growing industry in this region. Always fascinating and informative when Gino visits.

We caught up with our 8th and final scholarship recipient, Sarah Nguyen. Sarah was active in Etiwanda High School Key Club before going on to Chaffey College where she chartered the Chaffey Circle K, was charter president, and also became the Moonlight Lt. Governor. Her commitment to service and empowering others is exceptional. Her scholarship will help her with her last two years of college expenses. We can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next. Congratulations, Sarah!

Congratulations to our Upland Foothill Kiwanis Scholarship recipients: Jorja Angeli Esguerra, Abril Lizarraga, and Tate Oliver Piggee from Upland High School; Makayla Matito from Los Osos High School; Karlie Viste-Thap and Jordan Calderon from Etiwanda High School; Alilah Mora de Jesus and Sarah Nguyen from Chaffey College.

Each recipient demonstrated a heart for community service and received a $2500 scholarship. A total of $20,000 in scholarships! We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

It’s that special time of year - young citizen award presentations! It’s our chance to honor a student in graduating or promoting 6th or 8th grade at all Upland schools. This award is given to a student, selected by the principal, for their positive contributions. Congratulations to all our winners.

One of our Upland Foothill Kiwanis grant recipients, Joshua Day, received a $1,000 grant for Upland Acts of Service- Litter Free Upland. Thanks for all you do for our community.

UFK President Richie Stager joined Upland Junior High Builders Club for their end of the year party. They are such a great club with amazing faculty advisors!

This past Wednesday we heard from Candace Cetrone, USO Ambassador, who serves traveling military at the Ontario Airport. This Wednesday’s evening meeting will include something special from Upland High School’s Key Club. Always something interesting and engaging at our weekly meetings.
