Our instructor at Claremont Jaden Yenjai graduated with distinguished honors with 4.6 GPA and got into Berkeley.
Our instructor in Victorville Nevaeh Ausburger graduated high school valedictorian , got into Berkeley on full ride scholarship, and get this… already completed 2 years of college before getting into college.
Our instructor Kyla Nguyen got into University of San Diego (previously) and still manages to come work at our school every weekend helping so many kids become a better version of themselves.
Instructor Ben going into Navy Officer program also leading hundreds students on daily basis.
Most of our instructors are straight A students.
Just straight up bragging about my young team members… nothing else. 🤣
From a parent…
Many years of sweat lead these 3 young ladies to 2nd degree black belts! More than their technique I am so proud of their never giving up attitude!
Blackbelt test done for spring! Our students showed discipline, confidence, focus, great attitude and most importantly heart! Great job kiddos! You made us proud!
Let’s do this!
A high school student who was getting bad grades and getting into trouble takes the SAT at the request of his mom. Loving his mom he reluctantly took the test. When the score came back, he realized he got a 1480! This was awhile back so that’s actually a really really high score.
He realized that he was super smart and decided to pay more attention to school. His teachers saw the effort and started to change their mind about him. He bettered his grades, stopped hanging with the wrong crowd, went to community college and to an Ivy League college after.
Many years have passed and he became a super successful entrepreneur. One day he got a mail from a group that periodically reviews the past SAT and they have wrote him saying he was one of 13 students that were sent the wrong score that year. He actually had a 740.
When he was told “wow, your life really changed because they gave you a high score by accident!” He replied by saying “no, my life changed when I believed in myself and took action…”
The lesson is that we will fulfill what we think of ourselves. If you’re a parent, your child will fulfill what he/she thinks of himself. This is called self esteem. It’s how one views him/herself when no one is watching. Self talk is the most important talks you can ever give. Teach yourself and your kids to talk to yourself like you would to your best friend, or someone you look up to. We are ever so loving when our best friend makes a mistake, encouraging, letting them know it’s ok, things will be better. But often times when we talk to ourselves we don’t do the same. Learn to talk to yourself.
It’s all in how you think that will change your life.
Congratulations to Instructor Siena for being invited to become an official instructor for Excel Taekwondo Academies! One of the most dedicated, humble, talented, relentless, kind student now instructor that’s going to shape the minds of young ones. We are proud and honored to have her become one of our premier instructors!
You are the 5 closest people you hang out with. Make those 5 who brings you up and makes you smile!
This is why we do it. Not for the medals, not for bragging rights, not for prizes, and definitely not for the ego…
Then why? It’s for the smiles, the hugs, the fellowship, and the joys of being with your friends and family. Picture is worth a thousand words.
This was an incredible event. Thank you students, thank you parents, thank you instructors, thank you masters, and thank you god!
This is a clip of our inter-school tournament only for our students and organization today. Our team did such an amazing job! And the students! My gosh! How did they do so awesome!!!oh We know, it’s because of the awesome parents! We gotta give where credit is due, We have one super ultra fantastic TKD parents and family… feeling all kinds of blessed…
We are pleased to welcome master Park to our organization! He is 6th degree black belt with Kukkiwon, has his master degree for taekwondo from country of Korea, and has his teaching creditials for taekwondo from Korea! But the best part is, he is every bit as kind as what we wish our kids would grow up to be. Master Nam has know master Park for more than 24 years and has often helped master Nam with support and guidance and vice versa. We are so honored he has agreed at the request of master Nam to come and help our school in time of major growth! Thank you sir and welcome!!!
Dustin Nguyen is one of our youngest but toughest black belt candidate! He has never missed his practice and never complains about the hard work he puts in day in and day out! Proud to have him as our student!

Our founder Master James Nam. He has taught Martial arts for over 26 years, Is a bully management expert, US Fighting systems Instructor, Israeli self defense hand to hand tactical instructor(Haganah), and is a published author on the subject of Lifeskill for kids. Most of all, he’s passionate about giving the necessary tools to students to become a life champion outside of the martial arts school. He himself was severely bullied as a child and his life mission has been to help those who are in similar situations.
Trust is important in any coach, student relationship. You want results, trust your coach!
We don’t do average…
Let me ask you something… IS WINNING IMPORTANT? We teach our children YES!!!
Now, is winning more important than good sportsmanship? Is winning more important than your attitude? What about kindness? Is is more important than trying your best? Of course not! But winning is still very important! Let’s teach our children to be winners but also have them learn from not winning.
By the way, our students never lose. They either WIN, or they LEARN, but never lose.
Success is simple but never easy…
In order for you to get to the next level, you must give up something you worked hard for that you have on this level!
FOCUS starts at a young age. The secret is to disguise it into fun age specific GAME based drills! Many of these guys are now older and killing it!!!
Congratulations to our Claremont location for winning BEST MARTISL ARTS IN CLAREMONT !!!
Taekwondo is just a TOOL to get to the real training.
The real training is FOCUS, DISCIPLINE, CONFIDENCE, LEADERSHIP, and HEALTH!
Imagine if your child has all of the above… what wouldn’t they succeed in???
There’s no instant gratification in Taekwondo. Everything is earned and never given. True confidence comes from knowing you overcame obstacles you never thought you can overcome.
How do we know if the students are improving at home? These are called home stripes! They must earn these from the parents in order to advance to the next level!
True martial art spirit…
Looking like Champions!
It’s easy to be excellent when it’s the norm in the room! One way to use peer pressure for the positive! It’s hard not to give it your all when literally EVERYONE in the room os giving it their best!
How do you build confidence in your child? Have them accomplish things that are tough! There’s no instant gratification in Taekwondo! You must earn your way to the top!
You are the sum of 5 people you are around the most! Who do you want around your kids? How about fellow students who are dedicated to be the best versions of themselves! We are so proud of them!
It’s not just about kicking and punching. It’s about focus, discipline, and confidence!
