The HHS Farm class began planting plants. It has been a very wet cool winter to date. This week we had our first back to back to back 85-degree days. I was looking at photos of the garden the past few years and we had corn that was knee high. This year it just went into the ground. We have harvested artichokes and sweat peas. We just planted corn, cucumbers, zucchini, sweet and hot peppers, and some more artichoke plants.

Mr. R Connor is making this year his last at the teaching helm. He began his teaching career at Upland JHS in August of 1994. This year is his 19th at HHS and 29th overall. While at HHS he has taught technology, Algebra 1 (CAHSEE), Construction, and Farming.

The HHS Family Farm took to the road on April 12th and attended the Spring Festival at Upland JHS for the second year in a row. The festival has been a huge success for Upland JHS creating a great atmosphere for the students!

The Interior of the Tiny Home students has been building. We are getting close to completion!

Students have been coming into school the past four Saturdays helping Mr. Connor complete the Tiny Home!

The HHS Staff 2022-2023. Photo was taken in December 2022, thus the decorative hats on a couple of the teachers. Mr. Adams started out as principal this year but was involved in a motorcycle accident. During his absence, Mr. D Connor and Ms. Barragan, and then Mrs. Williams have been acting principals. We are anticipating Mr. Adams to rejoin the team in May 2023.

Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith has taught Government and Econ and HHS for over 20 years. He is still going strong! Oh yeah he has a passion for music. When time and students allow Mr. Smith has taught a Bach to Rock class, as well as a beginner guitar (music) class for students.

On Friday, April 21 HHS had a visit by the Citrus Elementary T-K ers. 34 students from Citrus Elem visited the HHS Family Farm where they were treated to treats in the garden, stay with the chickens, art, and PE activities.

This is the last week of school! June 6-9. Thursday is a minimum day. On Thursday school hours are 8:30 to 12:02. Graduation will be combined with Upland High School later in the day.

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. New this year, period 1 begins at 8:30 am. The year began on Monday Aug 23

Hillside High is closed for the summer. The custodian is on campus, but hard to reach. The office staff will be back on campus August 1 for the 2021/2022 school year.

2020-2021 Update....Mrs. Boswell and Mr. Waldowski retire following Mr. Gold and Mr. Broadway who retired during the 2019-2020. The staff held a retirement party for them at Cable airport recently.

Upland teachers begin to get COVID vaccines. The first teachers received the vaccine on Feb 3. At San Antonio Hospital

With the current surge of the Coronavirus HHS will be shutting the campus to students. The school had obtained a waiver and has been running a trial class with 9 students. The shutdown at HHS begins on Thursday, December 3, 2020. The district will be reevaluating the COVID-19 situation and will continue placing Public Service Announcements on their decisions and guidance.

I can tell you what's new on the HHS Family Farm. On November 14 we had some BCM's (Black Copper Marans hatch!) We went outside the farm to obtain the eggs, all the way to Magic Mountain Parkway. The BCM hens produce dark chocolate eggs. We hope to begin hatching these eggs in May 2021. (add photo's)
