Hello Friends : We are proud to announce that our newest podcast dropped this morning. You're invited to join us as we share some information that could change the way you address hair color applications in your Salon , forever. A short overview and links are listed below:
“Smooth Hair Can Still Be Un-finished”
Smooth hair can be one of the most convincing illusions in hair color.
In this episode, we break down why hair can feel incredible, yet still be chemically unfinished.
If you’ve ever trusted slip, shine, or softness as proof the process was complete, this conversation may change how you finish color forever.
Mastery isn’t about how it feels at the bowl… it’s about what’s still happening inside the hair.

Hello Friends: I am excited to announce our newest podcast on Guru In Your Ear. It an honest observation about an educational offering , although well intentioned , has created some controversy . A short overview and the links are posted below.
Can mastery be certified in a weekend?
That’s the question that sparked this episode, by request.
After watching a two-day class promise “Hair Color Mastery” and issue certificates to attendees, I knew this was a conversation we had to have. Not to attack education. Not to shame learning. But to protect the meaning of mastery itself.
In this episode, we pull back the curtain on one of the most dangerous illusions in modern hair education: the idea that mastery is something you arrive at, instead of something you practice.

’m excited to finally share that I’ve stepped into the role of North American Technical Director for SpektraLift™, where I’ve had the privilege of helping write the science behind a new approach to professional hair color.
This isn’t about launching another product.
It’s about introducing a different way of thinking.
What if some of the challenges we’ve accepted in hair color weren’t inevitable?
What if lift didn’t always have to come at the expense of deposit?
What if pushing chemistry harder wasn’t the same as letting it work better?
What if control mattered more than speed?
Over the past months, I’ve been deeply involved in developing and validating a new technology framework that asks those questions, carefully, responsibly, and with respect for the craft.

Bringing Regulated Oxidation Technology® to market isn’t about breaking rules or making claims.

It’s about refining our understanding of how oxidative chemistry actually behaves when it’s guided, not rushed.

This work has reinforced something I’ve believed for a long time: real progress in our industry doesn’t come from louder promises, it comes from better understanding.

What we understand about hair color chemistry is changing, intentionally, quietly, and intelligently.

I’m proud of the team behind this, grateful for the trust placed in me, and excited to help lead a conversation that puts education, integrity, and professional judgment back at the center.

If these questions resonate with you, stay close.

The conversation is just beginning.

t’s always funny when you’re researching a post and you make a discovery that stops you in your tracks.
Something an entire industry has believed for years and still believes today turns out to have never been correct.
And for those who hold that belief, the natural reaction is,
“Then what was I feeling?”
To which my mentor would say:
Your imagination. It’s all in your head.
Don’t shoot the messenger.
It’s just the facts.

Happy New Year ! Our first podcast for 2026 dropped this morning. I believe you will find it , a wake up call for hair color education. Intro , overview and links below.
“Color theory outside of hair chemistry can be enriching, but it should never replace or precede a colorist’s understanding of how pigment is created, altered, and revealed inside the hair fiber. Without that foundation, additional color frameworks risk confusing learners rather than empowering them.”
That’s not inflammatory.
That’s responsible.
"Teaching Around the Edges" is a "By Request" conversation about timing, depth, and responsibility in hair color education.
As educators and learners, we live in a moment of more & more systems, more language, more frameworks. But more information doesn’t always create better colorists.
In this 16-minute episode, Dennis explores why confidence can grow faster than understanding, how education can drift away from the core without us realizing it, and what truly builds lasting confidence behind the chair.
If you’ve ever felt inspired by education but still uncertain in ex*****on, this episode will bring clarity, not noise.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Guru Nation Named Educational Hub for Italian Hair Color Innovator Sustainable Glam Pro
Brand-Neutral Education Meets Italian Craftsmanship, Science, and Integrity
United States / Italy Guru Nation, long recognized for its uncompromising commitment to brand-neutral, science-based hair color education, is proud to announce a new collaboration with Sustainable Glam, an Italian professional hair color manufacturer and creator of GlossX® and Epic® permanent hair color systems.
For years, Guru Nation’s mission has been clear: teach the truth about hair color without marketing myths, without smoke and mirrors.
That mission, while disruptive, has always been rooted in integrity.
And while it hasn’t always made partnerships easy, it has made them meaningful.
“Sometimes you’re fortunate enough to find a manufacturer who doesn’t ask you to bend the facts only to show where their product fits into them.”
That manufacturer is Sustainable Glam.
A Partnership Built on Facts, Not Fiction
Sustainable Glam produces Italian-made professional hair color, lighteners, developers, and retail products that align with the very standards Guru Nation has taught for decades.
As part of this collaboration, Guru Nation now serves as the official Educational Hub for Sustainable Glam without sacrificing its brand-neutral philosophy.
This partnership is not about endorsement through hype. It’s about education through transparency.
Why Sustainable Glam Stands Out
Every product in the Sustainable Glam portfolio is formulated and manufactured in Italy, adhering to strict EU cosmetic standards and the European ban on animal testing.
Their offerings are direct-to-salon, cost-effective, and designed for professional performance , without unnecessary additives.
When evaluating any professional hair color line, Guru Nation looks at five essential criteria:
• A wide, usable shade range
• User-friendly formulation (mixing, odor, scalp comfort)
• True-to-tone performance
• Cost efficiency for the professional salon
• Longevity and condition between salon visits
Sustainable Glam meets and in many cases exceeds those expectations.
A New Chapter for Education
This collaboration represents a new model for the professional beauty industry where education leads, facts matter, and products are evaluated honestly.
Stylists and salon owners are encouraged to explore the line and decide for themselves.

The Future of Hair Color Is Honest
This partnership isn’t about changing what Guru Nation teaches.
It’s about proving that truth-based education and exceptional professional products can coexist.
And for many, it may just change the way you think about hair color forever.

Holiday Message to :

Guru Nation Students & Guru In Your Ear Community

Hello friends,

As the year begins to slow down and we find ourselves reflecting on the road behind us, I wanted to take a moment to speak to you ,not as an educator, not as a podcast host, but as a fellow professional who deeply respects the journey you’ve chosen.

This year, you trusted Guru Nation and Guru In Your Ear with something incredibly personal:

Your education, your curiosity, and your desire to truly understand this craft—not just perform it.

That trust is never lost on us.

In an industry that is often loud, crowded, and driven by trends, filters, and shortcuts, you chose a different path.

You chose truth over hype, science over storytelling, and understanding over memorization.

That matters.

Brand-neutral education isn’t always the easiest road.

Teaching real science means asking harder questions, challenging long-held beliefs, and sometimes slowing down so we can actually move forward with confidence.

But you showed up anyway.

You listened. You questioned. You grew.

And because of that, you are not just better stylists—you are stronger thinkers, clearer communicators, and more confident professionals behind the chair.

This year reminded us why we do what we do.

Why we protect the integrity of hair color science.

Why we speak honestly, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Why we believe education should empower—not intimidate.

Your loyalty, your messages, your thoughtful questions, and your belief in our mission have fueled every class, every episode, and every long night preparing content that serves you ,not algorithms.

As we move into the holidays, my hope is that you take a moment to recognize how far you have come.

Growth doesn’t always announce itself loudly ,but it shows up in confidence, clarity, and calm when others are still guessing.

Looking ahead to 2026, I encourage you to begin planning your educational journey with intention.

Education isn’t an expense, it’s a compass.

And when chosen wisely, it shapes not just your skill set, but your career longevity, creativity, and peace of mind.

We’re honored to be part of that journey.

Thank you for believing in truth.

Thank you for trusting science.

And thank you for allowing us to walk beside you as educators ,not above you.

From all of us at Guru Nation and Guru In Your Ear, we wish you a holiday season filled with rest, reflection, and renewed purpose.
We’ll be right here ,ready to grow with you in 2026.

With gratitude and respect,
Dennis Gebhart
