Find Your Tribe is an evening gathering with your "tribe"--the folks writing what you write. The 2026 conference had tribal gatherings on writing for children, writing for middle grade and YA, nonfiction, fiction, and learning from publishers.

Our open mic night allows attendees to read several paragraphs of a chosen work. It's a great way to be inspired!

One of the best things about a conference like ours is the opportunity for attendees to sit one-on-one for 15 minutes with a faculty member. What a great opportunity to pitch an idea, ask for feedback, ask questions, or just chat!

The Professional Writing major is proud to sponsor the annual Taylor University Professional Writers Conference. Current students and alumni are invited to serve as conference staff -- and they always do a fantastic job. Here's the 2026 group who scurried everywhere during the TU Professional Writers Conference -- kindly assisting with basic conference activities, helping people find rooms, shuttling folks to the dining commons on a golf cart, playing games with the high school attendees, restocking the snack table, unlocking doors for locked-out people, beautifully playing the piano as sessions began, consigning and unconsigning books, helping with technology, as well as having a chance to teach sessions in the Fantasy & Worldbuilding track. And, oh yes, making memes of one another in the process. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to experience a writers conference and learn from authors, agents, publishers, marketers, and editors.
