⬇️🧠Finally a pilot👨‍✈️⬇️

I can’t tell you when, but it just happens one day. You’ll feel like an imposter, and then you’ll look back and see all that you’ve accomplished. Then you can confidently say, “I’m a pilot”

Early on it felt isolating becoming a pilot because non of my friends or family knew what it took to be a pilot, they just saw me at the airport all the time. Not knowing much beyond that I can’t blame them, but it was definitely an isolating time.

As I grew through my ratings, I met more and more people that were choosing the same struggle as me and it didn’t feel as lonely. (And that I wasn’t crazy for going after this career)

At the beginning it feels like you can’t get these ratings done fast enough and you’re hyper focused, which I think is good at the very beginning, there’s a lot to learn. Just don’t forget to look around on your way up and appreciate how far you’ve come and the people that have supported you in this journey along the way.

Don’t be afraid to reach out to other people in this community as well, it’s a small group and we should all be looking out for each other. Be careful not to burn bridges.

Other pilots, if you got some wisdom for the new guys and gals getting into this industry, drop it in the comments⬇️ I’d love to hear it and I’m sure it can help them out.

Thanks for stopping by! Share this with someone who might find it helpful! Talk to you soon🤙🏼

🔥Gotta stay hot on those emergency procedures🔥

You’re for sure going to see this on your private checkride so make sure you got this checklist memorized (if you’re training in a 172n)

Most DPEs like to see you dive and bank first then run the checklist. In real life you’re not going to have time to run a checklist so you should be training with a flow.

Pitch for 120, bank for 30, start reverse L, checklist is what I teach. Refer to your instructor for the best practice in your airplane.

60% of men think they can land a plane with no experience. Here’s how you and I are going to do it legally and safely in less than a week💪🏼

Shoot me a DM if you want to dump a week into learning how to fly. (about 40 hours)We usually start with a discovery flight, which is a fun flight around town, then we jump into flight training for real the next time we meet.

Other CFIs, what I miss?

Flight planning? Here’s some basics you gotta remember. ITAPD all the different types of altitudes you’re going to encounter.

Indicated altitude is the altitude you read right off your altimeter

True altitude is your altitude above sea level

Absolute altitude is your altitude above the ground

Pressure altitude is the altitude at 29.92 or altitude corrected for non-standard pressure

And lastly

Density altitude is the altitude corrected for non-standard pressure and temperature

Thanks for coming to todays lesson, hope this helped🤙🏼
