Happy New Year from the Jungle! 🎊❤️

01/01/2025

Let go of past regrets, failures, and even achievements that hinder your faith in Christ. May you not fear the struggles that lay ahead, but face them confidently with the strength you have in Christ. Wishing you every blessing in the new year! ❤️

12/26/2024

"God's forgiving, redeeming, restoring touch reaches down into those places in our lives where we are most ashamed, most defeated.

More than this: those dark places are themselves where Christ loves us the most. His heart willingly goes there. His heart is MOST strongly drawn there." (Ortlund, The Heart of Jesus, p. 35)

The surprise this Christmas is the coming of a savior for whom my darkest sins pull Him toward me rather than push Him away.

For those who are too weak--or too strong--to come to Jesus this Christmas, He has come to you.

"Til he appeared, and the soul felt its worth..." 🎄 Merry Christmas, friends!

❤️ Brenda

The best time to start was 10 years ago. The next best time to start is NOW. 😀 With every video, I'm gradually overcoming my fears of judgement and failure, and my self-doubt. I'm giving myself permission to use my voice, find the words, try stuff, test ideas, and have fun communicating with students--and anyone who can benefit from my videos 🙏 If you're one of the 200 in my "house," thank you for your support!!! ❤️

Parents of 5th-12th graders, I have 2 spots for one-on-one mentorship open for the 2024-25 school year. Students receive 10 months of personal Christian coaching in 60-minute sessions, once a month. Conversations are informed by answers to questionnaires, plus anything that is weighing on the student's heart and mind.

Questionnaires include questions like:

1. What are 5 ways God blessed you this past month that you're grateful for?
2. Without thinking too hard, what are you most concerned about right now?
3. Finish the sentence: "One situation that is stressing me out is ___"
4. "One thing that disappointed me recently was _____"
5. "I'm proud of myself for ____"
6. On a scale of 1-7, how connected do you feel to your parents?
7. On a scale of 1-7, how healthy are your friendships?
8. If you could improve one of your relationships, which one would you choose?
9. What are you willing to do to strengthen this relationship?
10. What is one opportunity that you have to take a healthy risk right now? (Audition for the school play, make a new friend, join a club, start a club, try out for a sports team, run for a leadership position, serve in a church ministry, start a business, etc)
11. Where do you lack clarity right now?
12. Where do you lack energy right now?
13. How do you need to trust God right now?
14. What is your definition of success right now?
15. Where are you finding your confidence, significance, and self-worth these days? (Grades, physical appearance, reputation, sports performance, music performance, college admittance, leadership performance, spiritual performance, etc)

If these types of questions would help your student to lead him/herself well this school year, DM me or email [email protected] ASAP.

2024-25 (YEAR 1 of the 3-Year Program) Learning Objectives - Students in the Well-Led Life Leadership Mastermind will:

1. Root their identity in Christ's performance--not in theirs – Students will learn that Satan attacks their sense of self-worth with a successful lie: Self-Worth is determined by Performance (successes/failures) and what people think of you. Using the book, "The Search for Significance (Student Edition)" by Robert McGee, students will learn Satan’s 4 big lies to teens and how to replace them with biblical Truth.

· Q: What does identity have to do with leadership? A: How you choose to lead your life is largely determined by how you see yourself and who you believe you are (identity). If you believe you are a valuable child of God who is worth the costly life & death of Jesus Christ, you will be more likely to make God-honoring choices and overcome self-doubt with taking healthy risks to maximize your priceless life, even if you might face failure, loss, judgment, rejection. Secure and confident in Christ, you know you can afford the costs of a well-led life.

2. Gain a leader’s mindset—the mindset of a lifelong learner – Students will learn how to shift their perspective of loss, mistakes, regret, disappointment, and failure into opportunities for personal growth & valuable learning. Using ideas from "Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn" by John Maxwell, students will prepare themselves for handling the more challenging experiences that are already included in God’s good plans for their sanctification

3. Learn fundamental tools & principles to improve emotional intelligence (EQ) and exercise emotional regulation for teens – Students will learn useful strategies to grow in self-awareness and empathy for others

4. Intentionally lead themselves through the 2024-25 school year by regularly evaluating their lives and character, working toward personal goals, and building habits to support them in a growth-driven environment

This 2024-25 school year, I’m excited to take students through the Gospel truths that will set them free from the cultural lies that misdirect them to find their confidence, security, self-worth, and sense of significance in their own performance instead of in Christ’s. I pray that every student this year will gain the mindset of a learner (leader) who will see every situation in life as an opportunity to learn, grow, and go to the Cross.

Join me for an INFO SESSION tonight - Tuesday, July 30 from 7-8 PM PST to learn more about the 2024-25 leadership program! Register here to receive the Zoom link to join: www.weleadthis.com/info

Parents, Guardians, Teachers of 7th & 8th graders-- If you value personal leadership development...CHRISTIAN, Gospel-centered leadership development...

You're invited to attend an INFO SESSION for parents & students about The Well-Led Life Leadership Mastermind Program. I'll be sharing the framework that I've been using to guide students in their practice of personal leadership (leading themselves well, so that they can lead others well).

I'll be focusing on YEAR 1 of the 3-year program, since this 2024-25 school year begins our second cycle through the program. (PRAISE GOD!) I'll be presenting these learning objectives for 2024-25 Mastermind students:

1. Root their personal leadership in their Christian identity – Students will learn that Satan attacks their sense of self-worth with a successful lie: Self-Worth is determined by Performance (successes/failures) and what people think of you. Using the book, "The Search for Significance (Student Edition)" by Robert McGee, students will learn Satan’s 4 big lies to teens and how to replace them with biblical Truth.

Q: What does identity have to do with leadership? A: How you choose to lead your life is largely determined by how you see yourself and who you believe you are (identity). If you believe you are a valuable child of God who is worth the costly life & death of Jesus Christ, you will be more likely to make God-honoring choices and overcome self-doubt by taking healthy risks to maximize your priceless life, even if you might face failure, loss, judgment, rejection.

Using ideas from "Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn (for Teens)" by John Maxwell, students will prepare themselves for handling the more challenging experiences that are already included in God’s good plans for their sanctification

3. Learn fundamental tools & principles to improve emotional intelligence (EQ), social development, and exercise emotional regulation for teens – Students will learn useful strategies to grow in self-awareness, social awareness, "mindsight," and empathy for others

4. Intentionally lead themselves through the 2024-25 school year by regularly evaluating their lives and character, working toward personal goals, and building habits to support them in a growth-driven environment

The Zoom meeting will take place this Sunday, July 28, from 5:30-6:30 PM PST on Zoom.

Register here to receive the Zoom link via email: https://www.weleadthis.com/info

I'd love to see you there--and bring your teen's besties! 😀

07/24/2024

Friends! I have ONE MORE CLASS that 7th-12th grade students can join THIS SUNDAY, JULY 28. Check out these worthy goals that students have set in the 2 classes that have already happened:

"I want to grow from prideful to humble by praising others so that I can strengthen my Christian faith"

"I want to grow from a gamer to a disciple by spending time with God so that I can be more mature"

"I want to grow from timid and quiet to outgoing and friendly by talking to more people than my family and close friends so that I will be able to step out of my comfort zone"

"I want to grow from being self-conscious to confident by trying new activities so that I feel comfortable around friends and family"

"I want to grow from just going to church on Sunday to really praying deeply to God so that I can grow closer to him"

"I wanna grow from being a people-pleaser to setting and knowing my boundaries. I can do this by saying no more often so that I won't be used by people"

"I want to grow from easily distracted at church to focused in church service by paying better attention to the sermon so that I will want to go to church"

"I want to grow from dealing with an identity crisis to becoming confident by fixing some of my friendships and letting others go so that I will have healthier friendships"

"I want to replace others' opinions of me with God's opinions of me by replacing lies with truth so that I will have healthier friendships"

"I want to grow from lazy to hardworking by changing my attitude so that I will improve my grades"

..there's more but you get the point!

THESE STUDENTS KNOW WHAT THEY WANT OUT OF THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR WHEN THEY ARE GUIDED THROUGH THE PROCESS OF HOW TO LEAD THEMSELVES WELL.

There's ONE LAST CLASS this Sunday, July 28 from 4-5 pm PST on Zoom. Don't miss it! Register here: www.weleadthis.com/challenge

I'd love to serve the students YOU know who would benefit from a 60-minute leadership class that will challenge them to start the upcoming 2024-25 school year strong by setting a personal, meaningful goal to pursue this year.

I can't wait to present the "3 Leadership Practices for a Well-Led School Year" ...ONE MORE TIME!
