This August, The Big Idea Makerspace at San Juan College is hosting two hands-on workshops with internationally recognized Diné fashion designer Jolonzo Goldtooth, an opportunity to explore Indigenous fashion while learning new creative skills using professional makerspace equipment.
🪡 SEW WHAT! – Introduction to Sewing
📅 Saturday, August 8 | 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Learn sewing machine basics, stitching techniques, and professional finishing while creating a completed sewing project.
👗 SEW TO THE RUNWAY – Fashion Design & Draping
📅 Saturday, August 15 | 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Explore fashion sketching, draping, garment design, textile sublimation, and construction.
Whether you're new to sewing or looking to expand your creative skills, these workshops offer hands-on instruction in a collaborative makerspace environment.
