Currently the Calumet Free Fridge and Pantry is closed. The Copper Country Angel Mission has a pantry that is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11-2. The CLK council of Churches-Food Pantry is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9-12 . The farmers at the Calumet Farmers Market will continue to donate produce to CLK Food Pantry.

When I met Ben Gray about 3 weeks ago, I knew I found the Perfect man to carry on The Office Shop and The Calumet Free Fridge Values!

For days Ben would come in and talk about Amazing ideas he had for the community!

When people came in to The Office Shop to use The Calumet Free Fridge he introduced himself and offered Genuine help!

Ben had a Wonderful and Electric energy surrounding him!

Ben asked me several times how did I handle the pressure of trying to feed the Hundreds of people in need in our community?

We talked about several ways and I explained it is going to be a Difficult journey!

Ben is trying to find his way and a few mistakes along the way only proves he is Human!

Any missteps that Ben may have taken the last few weeks trying to get his footing, I forgive him with Grace, Mercy and Love!

It is my wish that our Loving and Supportive Community also give 100 Percent Grace, Love and Mercy as he makes his way to fulfil his Dreams, as he gives his Grace, Love and Mercy to our Community!

Greetings! Changes are hard, but sometimes necessary. We are working to implement a new venue for farmers to donate to the community. Thank you to those who have reached out with support. More information will follow as the new venue is worked out. It takes a community, and I am so grateful to those who have reached out with help.

As you all know, The Office Shop has been sold. The new owner is currently working to revamp services and hours , etc. To maintain continuity and consistency with the farm to fridge , we are looking at other ways to insure that the farmers can still donate weekly to the community. Please follow here to see what we have figured out. A huge shoutout to the farmers for their continued support.

What a week for our Community! Ben Gray purchased The Office Shop and will continue to run The Calumet Free Fridge!

Ben will be staying a few months at Scott Street and then, move to its new home, Pats Market in Laurium!

Pats Market has more that Double the square feet to serve the community with The Calumet Free Fridge while continuing to offer the many services that The Office Shop has offered for decades!

Please stop in and see Ben at The Office Shop at 25703 Scott Street and offer to help him with The Calumet Free Fridge as you have done for years with me!

It has been a Tremendous Gift and Blessing to serve this Amazing Community for the past 31 Years!

I will truly miss so Many!!!

I’m in the process of starting a nonprofit 501(c). I’m hoping to get it up and running as soon as possible (if anyone can help me with this, I’d greatly appreciate it).

My first mission is to keep the Free Fridge open with as little delay as possible, as a lot of families depend on this food. It’ll be the same as always, but just in a new location and now under the umbrella of my nonprofit. I want to continue Ron’s legacy in this community. But I also have a larger mission in mind.

I’m going to create a community campus in Laurium, The Fox Commons. It’ll include The Free Fridge, The Office Shop, and (new) The Socratic Fellowship. The Fox Commons will be a place where nobody gets judged.

The Socratic Fellowship, which I want to start soon, will run alongside the Free Fridge and Office Shop in Laurium. It will be a free college where anyone can take university-level classes with no tuition, no barriers, no judgment.

The idea is simple but profound: we help each other with whatever we’ve got — our time, our knowledge, our skills. We don’t wait for money. We just help each other

The Calumet Free Fridge inside The Office Shop has taken down the shelving area that supplies canned goods and personal items to our community.

The Calumet Free Fridge will still accept food and will distribute that food to other pantries in need!

The Calumet Free Fridge will still accept donations from the local Farmers every Saturday from the farmers market and people can pick up fresh produce on Monday morning and through the week until it is gone!

The Calumet Free Fridge will still accept milk and frozen food from the Calumet High School!

The Office Shop is closing, and every item is 25 Percent off until the inventory is gone!

It is my desire and I am talking with a man about buying The Office Shop inventory and running The Office Shop and The Calumet Free Fridge inside Pats Market in Laurium.

With spring upon us, we are now able to source produce from our Calumet Farmers Market and replenish the free fridge. Fresh produce will be available to the community on Mondays. Make sure to check out the market and be sure to support our generous farmers!

After 31 wonderful years serving the Copper Country, it is with mixed emotions that I announce the closing of The Office Shop in Calumet unless the business is sold as a complete operation that will continue serving our community.

When I purchased The Office Shop 31 years ago, we introduced a simple business philosophy:

"Why Mark It Up... Just to Mark It Down?"

Instead, we chose to offer fair prices and excellent customer service every day. Our goal was never to inflate prices only to advertise huge discounts later. We believed our customers deserved honesty, value, and respect from the very beginning.

Because that philosophy has guided us for more than three decades, we are announcing what will be our final storewide discount.

All inventory is now 25% OFF, with the exception of ink cartridges.

There will be no larger discounts in the future. The 25% discount reflects the fair-pricing philosophy that has defined The Office Shop for 31 years and will remain in effect until all inventory is sold or until The Office Shop is purchased as an entire business.

My greatest hope is still to find a buyer who will continue the legacy of The Office Shop and help preserve the services and traditions that have been important to our community for generations.

Thank you to the thousands of loyal customers who have supported The Office Shop over the past 31 years. Your friendship, trust, and support have meant more than words can express.
