Big night Bengals. Grants is coming to town. One of the longest rivalries in the state. It is a game that all Bengals have in common. It does not matter if you played in the 70's, 80's, 90's, or during the pandemic season. A lot of games have changed but this one has always stayed the same. Great stories. I remember when I was in the 8th grade and I was going nuts in the stands when Chris Hendrix returned a kick return at the end of the game to give us a chance to tie the game back in 1999. I remember our bus getting a police car es**rt out of Grants one year. I remember in 2010 when the Bengals scored on their last offensive possession and kept Grants out of the end zone in the last minute of the game to win in 2010. What is your favorite Grants vs Gallup memory? Go Bengals!

It was a fast but fun summer: Sleeping outside and under the stars at the UNM Football Camp, 630am weightlifting, 7 on7 at Miyamura,Traveling to Portales for the ENMU Football Competition, volunteering to scrimmage against the the Special Olympics Softball Team, and more recently having 7 on 7 at the TDFL Field. Now the real fun starts. Football season officially starts tomorrow, August 1st. Thanks for making the super cool flyer Mrs. Dooley.

The first week of summer offseason is finished and it finished strong with a great group of Bengals attending the UNM Lobo Football Camp. They displayed great character, competitiveness, and made Gallup proud. Getting coached by a Lobo legend like Coach Rocky Long and getting instructions from Lobo Coaches that spent time in the NFL. Camping out in the grass and under the stars and working hard during the day. Like Coach Gonzales said at orientation, "You're either getting better or worse every day, there is no staying the same." Keep the momentum going Bengals.

Special shout out to Lillie Swatzell. She is the first young lady to join powerlifting in the 2 years it has been going on. She is a strong young lady. Look out for her to make some noise at state next year.

The 2022 NM State Powerlifting Meet is in the books. Since powerlifting is new to the state, it is not divided into school class sizes. To be top in this meet, you had to beat everybody, big or small schools.
Congrats to Xavier Lopez for placing 8th in the 123 division
Santana Pablo for placing 6th in the SHW division.
Shawn Gomez for placing 4th in 242 division and pulling a massive deadlift of 500lbs plus.
and......
Ronnie Jim, State Champion!!! in the 275 Division

Trying to build back that Bengal Strength from the 80s and 90s. The NM high school powerlifting season has officially ended. This group is super awesome. We all had things going on from jobs, other sports, and other activities so if we were going to get it done, it had to be done early in the morning. Some mornings were cold, it was not always easy to get up, and there were a lot of days of sore muscles, but this group kept marching on. This is an amazing group of young people. The future is bright, not only for powerlifting but also for this world. Congrats to Lillie Swatzell, Xavier Lopez, Jesus Robles, Darvell S***t, Cody Begay, Ky Wero, Santana Pablo, Ronnie Jim, Kayelem Watchman, and Shawn Gomez for a season well done.
Congrats to the state qualifiers: Xavier Lopez, Shawn Gomez, Ronnie Jim, and Santana Pablo.

It is not often that Bengal Football gets a player on the New Mexico All State Team but this year we were blessed to get 2 players named for the honor. Congrats to Joaquin Ortega and Zailen Maxwell. Joaquin is Honorable Mention 4A All Sate Receiver and Zailen is Honorable Mention 4A All State Offensive Lineman. Great job gentlemen, that is an awesome accomplishment.
