One bucket of fabric. Eight hours. Endless adventures.

From superheroes and princesses to warrior belts, animal tails, capes, and everything in between—our friends took the lead and let their imaginations run wild, with no direction needed from their teachers.

This is process learning and emergent learning in action. We provide open-ended materials and an environment that invites curiosity, and then step back to see where our children take it.
There’s no “right” finished product. The magic is in the process—the creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, storytelling, and confidence happening along the way.

Sometimes the simplest materials create the BIGGEST learning opportunities.

🎉 Annual Teacher Skip Day 2026! 🎉

Our teachers work incredibly hard day in and day out, giving so much of themselves to our students, families and program. Teacher Skip Day was all about giving back to them with a well-deserved day to relax, laugh, connect, and have FUN!

The day was packed with team bonding, scavenger hunts, clue puzzles, paintball, fun raffle prizes, and plenty of laughs along the way! We also enjoyed breakfast and lunch by the pool and some much-needed time to simply relax and enjoy each other’s company.

Here’s to an unforgettable day with an incredible crew!

Campfire cooking fun!

Our friends ended their week last week with a fun campfire cookout! They roasted hot dogs over the fire and even got to try the homemade relish they made using pickles from our garden.

Of course, no campfire is complete without s’mores for dessert!

It was such a fun, hands-on way to learn about cooking, fire safety, and how food can go all the way from the garden to the table. What a delicious way to end the week!

This week at SIL, we are celebrating ALL THINGS “CHILDREN’S CHOICE”! 💛🌈

As we honor our amazing students who will soon be heading off to kindergarten, we’re dedicating the week to the things they love most—their interests, their ideas, their favorite activities, and the little moments that make them uniquely them.

From TRex Tuesday 🦖 to painting the building with washable paint 🎨, from “Wheels at School” 🚲🛴 with bikes and scooters to creating frog ponds 🐸 and opening up our very own hair salons 💇‍♀️…this week has been all about following the children’s lead!

And that is the beauty of children’s choice. When we give children the opportunity to guide their experiences, we get to see their passions, creativity, confidence, curiosity, and joy shine through. We aren’t just celebrating what they like—we are celebrating WHO THEY ARE. ❤️
We are so incredibly thankful for the time we’ve had with these amazing kiddos. Watching them grow, discover, wonder, create, laugh, problem-solve, and become the incredible little people they are today has been such a gift.
Kindergarten, here they come! 🎓🌟

We will miss you more than you know, and we couldn’t be more proud of you!
