uch as the longsword, dussack (saber), dagger and more. In addition to practicing both solo and partnered forms, drills and techniques, we spar wearing protective fencing gear. We do this with multiple intents including : recreating period-accurate fencing; "pressure-testing" our fencing skills against resisting opponents ; and as training & preparation for HEMA tournaments. Please note that we do not wear armor when we train or spar; if you are interested in armored combat, we are NOT the right group for you. As we are a club with growth in mind, we require all members to contribute towards our club funds via either monthly or per-class dues; this allows us to purchase insurance, gear and weapons for the club and its members! The first practice is free in order for you to get a feel for what we do and whether you are interested in continuing with us; If you would like to continue practicing with us all beginning members are asked to pay $35 for the first 4 weeks in advance. After the first 4 weeks, you can either pay a monthly membership due of $35 or pay $8.00 per class. Unfortunately, we also no longer allow club members younger than 18 years of age. We regret not being able to not teach younger applicants, but this decision was made for both for safety and practicality. Practices are held on SATURDAYs and SUNDAYs.
