Appalachian Memory Keepers A bit of History, Mystery, and Appalachian culture. If you are the Owner of a Historical Property, contact us for a potentially free video/photography session.

We also work with History Museums & Travel Authorities.

We are a group of volunteers who have formed a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing Appalachian history, culture and stories. The sad truth is that the people who know this history, who lived this history, are passing, on a daily basis….and many of their stories of old Appalachia are being forever lost. We think that is a tragedy. We believe that these people and their stories deserve respect, and have value…tremendous value. These stories should be kept alive because although the world is far different today….the information in these stories should never be lost. Our children and their children’s children need to know from whence they came. They need to know their authentic Appalachian heritage…and not the one that is so often frequently and foolishly stereotyped in pop culture. Appalachian Memory Keepers is dedicated to preserving and sharing these stories and memories thru modern media, including film, podcast, photographs, and online articles

🏡 NOW THAT’S AN APPALACHIAN HOMEPLACE. ❤️

Just look at this grand old house sitting out in the countryside... big enough for a large family, sturdy enough to weather the years, and full of the quiet character that only an old Appalachian home can carry.

With its broad porch, tall windows, and chimneys reaching toward the sky, this place feels like the kind of home where life happened on a grand scale. You can almost imagine children running through the yard, supper being prepared in a busy kitchen, and family gathering on that porch at day’s end to catch a breeze and talk about the day’s work.
