Finding something inappropriate is simply noting a violation. Noting what is inappropriate does not always equal being offended.

“Before anything else, turn to the Lord and His Word:

1. Pray before responding. We should seek God's voice before what our heart says (Jeremiah 17:9).
2. Invite God into disagreements. (Matthew 18:20).
3. Check your heart before correcting theirs (Matthew 7:3-5).
4. Seek unity, not winning (2 Corinthians 13:11).
5. Ask: “What is God teaching me here?” (Psalm 37:7).
6. Let Scripture guide your response (Colossians 3:15).”

“We talk about "it takes a village" almost exclusively in the context of raising kids, but adults need one just as much. Somewhere along the way, we stopped saying that part. 🌱

Your mind wasn't built to carry adulthood in complete isolation. Deadlines, bills, grief, decision fatigue, the sheer mental load of running a life. All of that gets heavier without people around who actually show up for you. Kids get a village by design. Adults are expected to build their own, usually while already exhausted, and a lot of people never actually get around to it.

Good people don't just make life more fun. They regulate your mind in ways you may not consciously notice. A steady friend after a hard day. Someone who checks in without being asked. A person who tells you the truth even when it's uncomfortable. That kind of support changes what your mind can actually handle, because you're not carrying the weight completely alone.

Building your village as an adult takes effort nobody prepares you for. It's worth every bit of that effort anyway.

Surround yourself with good people. Your mind needs the village just as much as it ever did.”
