💡Tell us a little bit about yourself:⁠
Having worked in a professional fabrication shop for many years, I love to put my mind and hands to work. From fixing classic cars to building spray painting robots, garage space is the only limit to my imagination. When there isn’t dirt under her fingernails I love to read, rock climb, program, and surf.⁠

💡What is your Genius Project about?⁠
Using 3D printing, micro electronics, CAD work, and tinkering I created a functioning banana phone as a half-joke. It is the full shape of a banana and can perform calls.⁠

💡Tell us a little bit about yourself:⁠
I'm a four-year varsity runner on the Cross Country and Track & Field team. When I'm not competing in races, I like to watch anime, play video games, and hangout with friends⁠
⁠
💡What is your Genius Project about?⁠
⁠Its goal was to raise money to buy flu vaccines to administer to homeless in the northern San Diego area. Through partnership with my father’s medical practice, Sherly med, donations from friends and family, as well as a $300 student grant from the Sage Creek PTSA , we were able to vaccinate 9 homeless individuals. ⁠

💡What are your plans for the fall of 2022?⁠
⁠I will be attending UCLA studying Evolutionary Biology and Pre-Med at the College of Letters and Science.⁠

Our SEVENTH annual Genius Project Forum was a success today! After three years without our “normal” event, we now know how lucky we are to have this intense meeting of the minds.
Today had a few glitches, but this is what we saw:
💡Bobcats presenting because of their excellence and because not everything has to be for a grade to be important.
💡Connections and conversations happening between students, parents, community members, and staff… all about POSSIBILITIES… on a HIGH SCHOOL campus.

💡Helpers. Lots and lots of helpers. This would not be possible without this arsenal of people fiercely believing in our young people. Thank you parents . Thank you staff . Thank you Thank you

It’s too often that we forget to teach our kids to wonder and dream about the “What ifs… and the What if I try this…?”
This is hard work— this taking the harder, unclear road, but our students are worth making the space and time in our curriculum to explore and try. 💚
