And just like that the count down begins ⏰, today at the kick off the 🍎 Dorchester Educators met with their members and held the 10 minute meeting for the district. As the school year starts, it becomes more important to know your contract, compare it to your sites handbook, and if you have questions !

We are kicking off the 🏫 school year right by meeting the new teachers at orientation! 🥳Members of our executive team met with new Dorchester County Public School teachers to share what DE, MSEA, and NEA have to offer!🥰 It’s never too late to join, and if you are still hesitant, reach out to your building rep, an executive member, or send us a message and we will answer your questions😉

As your President, I have spent the last three days in Orlando, Florida, participating in an amazing new president training provided by the NEA. I was honored to be selected to attend alongside 30 other incredible educators and local union presidents from across the country.
As I return home, I’ll be taking time to reflect on what I’ve learned and, most importantly, how I can use this information to strengthen and improve our union.

I also want to remind everyone that your voice matters. If you have questions, concerns, ideas, or suggestions for how we can continue to grow, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I want to hear from you.

It takes all of us working together to create the changes we want to see. I’m excited about what we can accomplish together.

This week we joined 🍎leaders across Maryland coming together at the Maritime Conference Center to learn how to organize, negotiate, and be not only building leaders, but develop their executive leadership skills too! We wrote postcards ✉️to urge our members and other counties to vote in upcoming elections, and we collaborated 🤝 and voiced 🗣️ solidarity with some of our sibling leadership in the Dorchester Administrators and Supervisors Association!

👀 Who shows up? 👌do! These educators registered, attended, learned, participated, and are earning 1CPD credit towards their renewal of license offered by MSEA🍎in Classroom Management!
