A vision becomes even more meaningful when the right people believe in it enough to help build it. ❤️

I’m excited to officially share that Mrs. Nevels has partnered with Not Yet Learning Academy as our Elementary & ELA Success Coach!

Mrs. Nevels will bring her experience, heart for students, and passion for literacy and learning to support students in grades 3–8.

And I’ll continue serving as our Middle School & Math Success Coach, also supporting students in grades 3–8.

Together, we’re creating something that goes beyond traditional tutoring.

This is the part of the vision that makes me smile. 🌳❤️

Not Yet Learning Academy may begin with Academic Success Coaching…

but the vision has always been bigger.

I envision a learning community where students can receive academic support AND experience opportunities that help them become confident, curious, capable, well-rounded young people.

And one day, physical spaces and mobile experiences that bring those opportunities directly into communities.

Some parts of that vision are for today.

Some are for tomorrow.

You just have to keep growing.

We’re building this intentionally, one learner, one family, and one opportunity at a time.

There is something special about being there at the beginning.

Not Yet Learning Academy is preparing for its next chapter, and we’re looking for a small group of families who believe in what we’re building.

Families who want more than homework help.

Families who want their children to grow academically AND develop confidence, stronger habits, accountability, and belief in themselves.

Our Founding Families won’t simply be our first clients.

They’ll be part of the beginning of a learning community we’re intentionally building around student growth, family partnership, encouragement, and belonging.

And as the Academy grows, so will the experiences available to our students and families. 🌱

Every learner is different.

So their support shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all either. 🌱

At Not Yet Learning Academy, our Academic Success Pathways are designed to meet students where they are and help them move forward intentionally.

Students aren’t simply matched with “a tutor.”

We look at the learner.

Their academic needs.
Their strengths.
Their confidence.
Their habits.
Their goals.

Then we build support around helping that student grow.

And academic coaching is only part of the experience.

Our growing Academy vision includes opportunities for students and families to learn and connect through Success Labs, academic foundations experiences, family/community events, and future readiness and enrichment opportunities.

We’re building something that can grow WITH our students.

Because success isn’t one moment or one grade.

So what makes Not Yet Learning Academy different from traditional tutoring? 🌳

We absolutely care about stronger academic skills.

But we also know that helping a student complete tonight’s homework doesn’t automatically prepare them for tomorrow.

We want to help develop the WHOLE learner.

That means working on things like:

✨ Academic foundations
✨ Confidence
✨ Organization
✨ Study skills
✨ Goal setting
✨ Accountability
✨ Learning strategies
✨ Self-advocacy
✨ Perseverance

Our goal isn’t to create students who always need someone sitting beside them to succeed.

Our goal is to help students develop the skills, confidence, and habits to increasingly take ownership of their own success.

That’s why we call our team Academic Success Coaches.

We’re not just asking:

“What does this student need to learn?”

We’re also asking:

“Who is this student becoming?”

That’s the Not Yet difference. 💚

Sometimes the student who needs support isn’t the student who “can’t do the work.”

Sometimes it’s the student who CAN, but has stopped believing they can. ❤️

Maybe homework turns into frustration.

Maybe they understand the material one day and feel completely lost the next.

Maybe they’re capable but struggle with organization, motivation, confidence, or knowing where to begin.

Maybe you’ve found yourself saying, “I know you can do this!” more times than you can count.

That’s the student Not Yet Learning Academy was created for.

We don’t begin by asking, “What’s wrong?”

We begin by asking:

🌱 What does this student need?
🌱 What are their strengths?
🌱 Where are the gaps?
🌱 What would help them experience success again?

Because sometimes a child doesn’t need more pressure.

They need the right support, strategies, accountability, encouragement and someone willing to keep reminding them:

MY WHY ❤️

The name Not Yet means everything to me.

There was a time when learning didn’t come easy for me.

I struggled academically.

I doubted myself.

I wondered if I was smart enough.

I know what it feels like to sit in a classroom and feel behind. To compare yourself to others. To wonder if everyone else understands something that you don’t.

But over time, I learned something powerful:

Growth doesn’t happen overnight.

Confidence isn’t built in a day.

Success isn’t about being perfect.

It’s about continuing to show up, learn, grow, and believe that where you are today is not where you have to stay.

That’s why I chose the name Not Yet Learning Academy.

Because “Not Yet” doesn’t mean never.

It means you’re still growing.

You’re still learning.

You’re still becoming.

Every student deserves someone who sees their potential before they see it themselves.

That is my mission.

Helping students move from:

“I can’t.”

to

“I can.”

Hello! My name is Imani Lyle, educator, academic success coach, and founder of Not Yet Learning Academy. 🌱

For over 10 years, I have dedicated my life to helping students overcome academic challenges, build confidence, and realize their full potential.

As a certified educator and online middle school teacher, I’ve worked with students who:

📚 Struggled academically

📚 Needed additional support

📚 Lost confidence in themselves

📚 Had IEPs and 504 Plans

📚 Needed someone to believe in them

That’s exactly why I created Not Yet Learning Academy.

Because I believe every child can learn.

The question is not if.

The question is how.
