Friends of Galileo's Village is a community page to share our events and invite community involvement.

Galileo's Village is a low cost STEM based homeschool co-op in the Grand Junction area for children and teens; preschool through high school.

Registration is live, but will close on 9/2 and payment will be due by 9/6. Classes begin on 9/12.

Pre-school (Mercury) will have a self contained class again this session.

Mars (K-2), Venus (3-4), and Neptune (5-6) will have 3 classes; biology, choir, and crafts.

We have added classes for 7th grade+ (Saturn group). They will have a double biology class and a choir class.

Would anyone be willing and able to help DM a group of kids on the 2nd and 3rd Thursdays of each month at Board Fox Games from 11:00-2:00 ish? I have 14 kids that are now going in (at least) 4 different directions. Ages 9-16.

Galileo's Village Spring 2022 Registration 04/10/2022

Spring Registration is now open!
Classes are Chemistry, Art, and Survival Skills. We will start on Monday, April 25th and run through June 20th; from 10:00-1:00. We will not have class on Memorial Day (5/30/22).
We are planning an Art show and Expo for the end of the session. There are also quite a few fun class-related field trips in the planning stages.
Registration fee is $25 per family and covers the cost of liability insurance as required by our location.
Class fees are $20 per child for Mercury (pre-school) and $30 per child for all other levels.

Venus (late elementary) group Bridge Challenge
Challenge: Build a bridge of at least 14" with no more than 200 popsicle sticks that can hold the most weight.

Challenge: Build a bridge of at least 14" with no more than 200 popsicle sticks that can hold the most weight.

Our Mars (early elementary) group Lego Bridge Challenge.
Challenge: Build a Lego Bridge across a 5" river.
Rules: It should be able to hold 2lbs.
Time Limit: 20 minutes

The winner of our Mars (early elementary) group Lego Skyscraper Challenge at 16.5" tall.
Challenge: Build the tallest Lego tower that you can.
Rules: It should be able to withstand a 10 second wind storm and a 10 second earthquake. You must take turns, each person placing one brick.
Time Limit:15 minutes

Our skeleton made an appearance on Monday while we discussed a difference between humans and insects. He even borrowed a hat for his photo shoot.
